what a great win for us. very crucial especially in this second half of the season.

i really agree with someone who said matic is a direct upgrade of mikel few weeks back. damn, the guy is so good. big in stature and very calm and solid when doing his job during defensive play. the upgraded part? this guy have no hesitation to make a killer pass and know when to go up and provide support and when to stay down. totally admire his performance against a very very attacking side. if matic is given more licence to roam, he will definitely be the next ballack. a midfield general!

cahill is a wall as well tonight. he started the game looking a bit shaky but regained his composure. willian surprisingly look very commanding in his role as our #10. ramires is let down during attacking but his defensive job is top notch.

i watched the game up until the 60th minute and fell asleep.. damn. lose very precious 2 points. after this game tonight, we might be 2nd, or even 3rd if arsenal can get something from their game.

was it just me that feel oscar is not that influential in this game? we got matic who can still thread a pass to him from deep but he still went deep to collect the ball. ramires is also kinda off last night..

Ramires is piss poor tonight. Very very poor by his own standard. No attacking threat from his side.. keep losing possesion n look clueless during attacking phase. Luiz is a timebomb again tonight.. he is so casual while defending.

Really hope torres can get some minutes tonight. Take out ramires n introduce torres. Really dont expect the poor ramires to last the whole match..

Losing is one thing.. Unable to register a shot on target is juat another. We are very2 poor tonight and if city goes on to win the watch, they simply deserves it.

Matic is a monster.. Pity that his partner tonight is Mikel. Matic is everything at that poaition while Mikel being the same old Mikel.

Agree with Mikel being sleepwalking. That describes him perfectly.

I believe this is one of the poorest performance this season. Totally outplayed by man city. And this better serve as a higlight for the season where we got no shot on target for the whole game. Anonymous performance by all the players that is wearing the star status.

Best player definitely Matic. And Cahill probably. Let us move forward from here.

massive win against a very good everton side. i'll take whatever it takes to win this game considering how well everton is playing so far this season.

oscar is piss poor. he looks clueless since the start of 2014 and it worries me since he is supposed to be the chosen one. ramires start the game poorly but in the end he is getting better and better.

as the commentator said earlier in the game, the sprint towards the end of the season starts with this game and we start it with a win against a very good side.

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Feb 22 2014, 11:00 PM)
Hard fought win!our attacking play just seems so out of ideas...can't recall a single penetrating pass from anyone except matic's long ball for oscar in the first half, and hazard's neat pass to put in lampsy.

Oscar is starting to remind me of a shorter version of ramires, with a slightly better first touch. That's what a lack of competition can do to u.schurrle should've been in from the start.

Willian is also starting to look like another version of ramires with a slightly better shot and bit more hair.so many players to backtrack and defend, not a single one apart from hazard with actual finesse.

Sigh.yes i do miss mata now. Problem wasn't our defence..it was our lacklustre attack.

P.s: ironically, when the real ramires came on he actually did better than most of our attacking mids.

you don't say thaat cry.gif

deep inside, i still remember him as the one that was put aside for the like of someone (who apparently is getting lacklustre) just because he doesn't defend well..

i woke up a bit late last night and only turned on for the game on the 38th minute but overall, we deservedly win the game.

i think jan vertonghen will be a big player after his error last night. he is already awesome as a center back and player of his calibre usually becomes better after recovering from their disastrous performance. i read somewhere that liverpool is looking to get him if they manage to be in UCL next season. somehow, i hope we can hijacked the deal considering the age of terry and the fact that vertonghen will greatly enhance liverpool defence next season.. that guy is good looking as well haha

bad performance against a very spirited team. we got nearly 75% possession at one time but you really need to ask yourself what did you do with all of that?

one thing that i can say that sometimes, we become a little bit more adventurous inside the 6-10 yard area with all the sudden tiki-taka and what not. it will be an awesome goal but with so less space to defend, most of the time it will lead to nothing. maybe a little bit of directness, and selfishness will get us something there..

a bit disappointed with the lose last night but i think we deserve it. no use blaming the refs over the decision as we did not do enough to win it. the red card to ramires might be a blessing in disguise. he is kinda off since the past few games and this might become a wake-up call for him. was expecting lampard to partner matic though last night..

wishing for barca, real madrid or psg in QF. reasons? we seems to do pretty well against a very offensive side. let people say we play negative football or what so ever as long as we win the game.

no atletico or bayern.. need to make sure eto'o or torres is on form, then only can take them head-on. no comment on man utd or dortmund with their 'weird' season.

correct me if i am wrong..

most probable there will be a classico match in semi final if barca and real madrid beat their opponent rite?

for us, if we won against psg, we will meet bayern (should they go through)?

tough game haha
