Sure but all these region locks with $60 price tag should not be accepted by anyone.

Either they choose between region lock with lower prices, or RoW with US prices.

RM60 price tag, not $60. I'm also ok with RM60 AAA titles that are region locked.

Thats why I am trying my best to avoid buying games from Steam and even GMG now as they have region specific stores.

Having a choice would be nice seriously.

GMG has region locking now? Wafak!

Look carefully at the link:

CODE
http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/MY/en/pc/games/action/dark-souls-ii-na/

Try replacing "my" with "us" or "uk" will always lead you back to the "my" store. And Namco said that they will provide region specific keys to other digital stores and GMG said that if publishers want to have specific keys given to specific region, they have to comply with it.

At least for now, whats known is, very much every digital distributor, other than GOG.com has regional store.

I think better hold on from preordering Dark Souls 2, I have a feeling that they will region lock it but still, you are paying lesser than Steam for a similarly region locked game.

And, f.u.c.k you Namco and all the pathetic Japanese publishers. What is wrong with you people? mad.gif

I didnt buy Tomb Raider yesterday because I saw an additional "Asia" word behind the survival edition. I think it might be a mistake as TR was region locked for a sale then it was removed but the typo was left there.

In future I think we can't buy at amazon anymore if most of the game going to region key. That will be US key as amazon digital only for US.

If they want to force us off PC Gaming, good riddance to them. I will turn back to my console and other hobbies.

They are definitely screwing us while giving us a cold shoulder when its asked. When these publishers or even Valve complained that piracy rates increased, i hope they know they are the ones who cause started it. Just like what Gabe Newell said in 2011:

QUOTE
"We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem."
"If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable."

Looks like Gabe had forgotten what he said. doh.gif

Just dont play AAA and hope it will be alright with indies.

Cant do anything so just deal with it.

What else can we do? SEA is an insignificant market to them, why should they care?

If regional pricing comes in, i think more people will welcome it than condemn it.

Ignorant fools. Anyway with the rising game prices + dlc, and the rising cost of living. Gaming might be a hobby of luxury soon.

It is already a luxury for me.

Working in a coffee shop in Australia allows me to buy more Steam games than working as an engineer in Malaysia. doh.gif

All thanks to the 1:3 currency exchange between US and Malaysia.

I thought gaming has always been a luxury. To anyone and everyone.
I wanna jump ship to console too if region locking gets worse in time.
