Hi SportyHandling, thanks for the clarification. You're absolutely right about the noise from suspension..."The sound from the suspension when going over uneven road is akin to some loose plastic bottles hitting against each other."

Though its not a problem but sometimes it annoys me as I use lots of gravel/dirt road.. anyway got to learn to deal with it  biggrin.gif

I do use thumb drive for song occasionally but I stream BT audio from my phone mainly when using Waze so that I get the waze prompts from the car speakers. If  use Radio/CD/USB then there won't be any sound from the waze rclxub.gif
BTW, some times I find it difficult to move the shift from P to R when I'm going back after work. Its  like the shift is stuck and I have to forcefully pull it to R. Anyone had this issue?
*
Difficult to shift from P to R ? with pressing brake pedal ?

My FOFO got hit by a motorbike and I need to replace the front bumper.

Brought to workshop and currently negotiating the price. They want RM2000++ for the replacement.

Any thought?

I am from JB btw.

Thanks.

hi thr, i heard some of the member here said JB got a workshop doing fofo mod, like focus front bumper to focus st front bumper in JB one.. but i cant recall who was that, or u may try looking the bumper from taobao.com its cheaper than 2k, without the paint job of course, u can try look for the stunning focus ST front bumper to replace , good luck brows.gif

Yes, the buttons on the gear knob are useless. Didn't bother to use the buttons after testing them less than few hours.

The S mode is surely good stuff at low to moderate speed.
*
s mode is fantastic but i think it burns more fuel hahaha, i tested it at same speed 120km/h with D mode rpm is 2600, where s mode rpm is 3200

It has been quite a while since I last pumped RON 97. Only tried 2 full tanks last year and did not really gauge the fuel consumption of it relative to RON 95.

May I ask which petrol did you pump or usually use? I only pump Caltex for all my vehicles.
*
i pumped caltex fuel but mostly shell. i just switch to RON 95 last week, and only pumped two tank, i can feel the power again of my car and guess what, jerking and grinding sound no more. i felt bad with this issues when i was using RON 97. maybe my fofo dont have the faith to be feed by RON 97, good or bad ? haahaha

The PJ service centre is really packed with appointments. Service appointments are now backlogged up to 3 weeks.

Do you guys have rattling sound at the dashboard top speaker cover and also the steering wheel when the car is going through bad-surfaced roads? There is a bit of rattling sound from these areas when my car goes over these roads. I hope they can get rid of these rattling noises.

The rattling sound is not very loud but it is a bit annoying when it comes up. A quiet car only to be spoiled by these minor rattling noises.
*
same as mine, rattling noise from the B pillar both side, it make me go nuts , so i go back SC and complain. they put some spans inside, it minimizes the noise, but i can still hear it when i drive at high speed on rough road. i will go back again to check with the service guy.

The noise is probably from your faulty gearbox/clutch. My car was like that before the service. It rattles at traffic stops too. After the change, it fixes all problems including the low speed grinding sound. I wonder how long will it stay that way before it happens again. Now my power sunroof is jerky the moment it is opening. I think the rubber seals have expanded somehow and misaligned.
*
how u claim that the clutch is faulty? ytd I asked sc technician guy, he said the reading of "something" need to be above 350 only u they will proceed to warranty claim on gearbox/clutch. it this true?

No 'ding 'ding' sound on my car hitting 5K RPM and above on both 'D' and 'S' mode.

The sound you mentioned is it similar to your seat belt unbuckle sound? Perhaps check if it is your seat belt? biggrin.gif
*
lol...definitely not seat belt la, not system warning sound neither. its ding ding ding, very fast one, like 10dings/sec and not very loud

At first I thought the rattling sound comes from the centre speaker cover at the top of the dashboard. But after having the car checked at the service centre, it was found that the rattling sound is actually from somewhere in the air cond and not the centre speaker cover. Now I don't have any rattling sound from the top of dashboard anymore. Just a minor rattling sound from the steering wheel when going over bad rough roads but that sound is negligible and not an issue.

No issues with gear lever. Feels high quality especially the leather on the gear knob. Not sure about the plastic door panel of the sports. The top plastic on the Titanium is textured brownish grey and the bottom plastic is light beige, which is high quality to me. Mine is the Titanium.

The main selling point of the Ford Focus is in the handling and driving dynamics apart from the higher quality interior when compared to Japanese.
*
i think the noises come out from the aircon venti exit cover (grey color), btw how u fix it ? and i got rattling sound from both side of front doors (i suspect it comes fomr doors)

Sorry, I didn't go inside the workshop to look at how the guy fixed it. It was mentioned that the sound is coming from the air-cond or something.

For any annoying sound, I would suggest that you just send it in to the service centre to have them resolve it. The Sime Darby PJ branch. If the sound is loud enough, I would think they will find a way to the source of the sound and get rid of it.
*
hi thks for ur info, if i send my car to Sime darby PJ , can i get my car fixed on same day ?

How does it happen when the gearbox suddenly broke down? Is there a sound from the gearbox and your car is not accelerating uniformly when it happened? Can you still drive the car to the roadside or maybe few kilometres when the gearbox was giving problems?
*
nope, it broke down without giving any signs. after i slow down and drive through a road bump then it broke down right away in the middle of the road, luckily i am few meters away from my house, so i have to push to car back to my house. when the gear in N, no grinding sound when i step on gas pedal, but the gearbox grind loudly when its in D mode. i would suggest focus owners always ask the SC to check the gearbox when u are going to do the interval service, make complain if the grinding sound is not tolerable, and eventually they will replace a new set rather than ur car sleep in the SC and u have no car to use.

All car insurance nowadays provide free car tow service (limited to certain km for the year). Btw, any RED exclamation indicator on your dashboard screen? Or when you navigate to the vehicle check screen any error found/diagnosed?
*
thks for ur info, screen runs normal, no warning signs. i think the gearbox boom alrd, i can hear "crak, crak, crak," with i shift to D gear.

Hmm.. it's strange as it didn't registered by any of the sensors. I suspect it could either be the Transmission Control Module (TCM) which acts like a brain to up shift or down shift or the actual (mechatronics) electric motor/solenoid actuation which does the shift..

Sorry to hear this happen bro. How long is your car already? Do keep us posted here on your car and hope it is not a major one.
*
thks for your concern bro, today ford technicians come to my house to take a look, guess what! the front shaft patah, and it stucks in the inner of ring of left rim.
thats why the car cant move and got sound when it tends to move. bloody road bump, I drive slow slow kena sikit, shaft also can patah...signnn sad.gif sad.gif
