So it is not the Powershift transmission that you thought had gone kaput earlier but the drive shaft. The transmission should be durable and can withstand a lot of abuse and won't KO easily. Still, surprising the shaft can be broken due to the road bump.

Actually I want to demo but it's raining outside. The car do unlock itself when you go nearby if got water on the sensor.. Happen many time when I wash the car. Need to put the key far away.

Anyway the door lock/unlock still not fixed. Need to come back another time. They said cannot check because their computer cannot logon to internet.. Need to use the internet to use ford diagnostic software. Thinking of going to another service center.

BTW, 40,000km service cost about 750 if anybody wanna know (mine free coz of promo). just for the information.

Standard Ford Focus free service is 3 Years or 60,000KM which ever comes first.

the smell come into the cabin while driving high rpm/ >160kmh
i dun think its from the brake pad since acceleration is quite normal not heavy, not sure about clutch disc.
i think its somewhere under the hood since the smell is like coming from the aircond vent

Yes, similarly experienced the weird smell from the air-cond vents when starting the engine. I experienced this previously and didn't think it was a serious problem so I didn't highlight this issue when I serviced the car at the service centre. However, during the 20,000km service, after the odour filter was replaced, it appears that the bad smell was gone. But just recently, the smell came back again after 6+ months.

Have you gone through the 2nd service (20,000km), and if yes did you notice the bad smell disappearing after the odour filter was replaced?

I can't definitely say if the odour filter is the culprit yet, but if the smell disappears after the odour filter is replaced during the 40,000km service, then it is likely the odour filter is the cause of the bad smell. (Currently the odour filter is replaced at a service interval of 20,000km, 40,000km, 60,000km, 80,000km and 100,000km)

Ok. Complained on foul smell from air-cond vents upon starting the engine. The culprit is not the odour filter but the ventilation sponge in the air-cond. The ventilation sponge in my vehicle had been replaced with a new one.

Just in case you guys are interested to know, the total cost of the ventilation sponge replacement is RM480 (RM100+380). One is for labour and one is for the ventilation sponge.

Also, complained on the jerking and grinding sound of the vehicle and upon checking they reported that the clutch is leaking. Will need to arrange for another appointment to have it fixed. Was told that the exercise will take 3-4 days.

An interesting note is according to the foreman/service advisor, if owners do not complain on the jerking and grinding, the service centre will not do anything ie. advise on the clutch that is leaking. Only when the complaint on the jerking and grinding gets registered onto the system, they will check the vehicle and advise on the leaking clutch and subsequently carry out the necessary rectification.

Service centre is at Petaling Jaya just beside the federal highway. Not too sure about the technician but the service advisor is Justin Looi Kah Yung.

Decided to change the 4 tyres as the 2 front tyres on my car are looking real bad. I have never seen anything like it. Instead of normal tread wear pattern, there are tears on the tyres with chunks of tyres peeling and falling off. Although driving style may contribute to the wear pattern of the tyres, I do think the quality of the tyres also play a part.

The stock tyres on my Ford Focus Titanium are Goodyear Assurance Fuelmax. Does anyone here have the Goodyear Assurance Fuelmax tyres on your car? Do the front tyres look good after 30,000km mileage?

After surveying on tyres, I have decided on the Michelin Primacy 3ST which is claimed by many to be one of the quietest and comfortable tyres around. However, these tyres are quite pricey, about RM60(each) more than most good and common tyres.
