It's common, considering that I also a Vios driver before this, it gets better from 3-4k mileage, and I feel it's very smooth at 5k clocked so far, only slight jerking when going uphill at low speed, which is bearable to me smile.gif

Hi, I tested out the USB slot at the glove compartment using a 32GB pen drive to listen to songs. Unfortunately the pen drive could not be connected to the system with a "connection Error" message. I tried using a smaller capacity pen drive of 2GB and it worked.

Is this due to the large capacity of the pen drive? Checked manual but nothing in it covering the USB function.

Anyone experienced this issue before? Thanks.

Anybody know how to set door to autolock when driving/moving?
Secondly is there any way to prevent auto unlock when passenger open their door?

There's autolock function built in to our car. Just that it has been disabled from the factory.
To enable it, u need to get someone with VCM, connect it with the car and enable those features.
Not sure whether there's risk of "brick-ing" the car tho.
No way... I sent my car for service yesterday and complain about the rattling sound.
They told me its the steering rack and need to be replaced.
Need to wait 3 months? That is painfully long time.
How long do they ask u to leave your car with them?

As a side note, sent my car for 1st service at SDAC PJ. Had the 1st slot, 8am but car done on 2pm.
The car actually done quite some time before but because everyone was out for lunch hence no one to handle it.
Kinda pissed off that the whole process is so time consuming not because of actual servicing but on the way the staff handle the process.

After the service, the car feel much lighter.
Complaint about:
1. the juddering, not sure what they did, it is smoother now.
2. the rattling noise from front steering rack problem, need warranty
3. car looses power when reverse up steep slope. Not able to replicate problem
4. number plate blocking sensor, fixed, extra screw i guess
5. can smell exterior smoke in the cabin - they didn't update me on this.
6. radio never remember last option, always reset to radio after restart vehicle even though selected usb - tried on other car, same problem, could be the thumb drive.

2 days... sent on wednesday morning.. suppose to get call friday... let see how..... have asked to perform 20k service as well cause mileage 19K already.
haha... i had the same issue during my 1st service,, appointment at 9... got my car at 3pm.. pissed off as well but the answer and reason is the SC is too full, they are building up another 2 service centres to cater unexpected boom of ford sales...

I would like to check with Titanium owners in which the vehicle comes in Goodyear Assurance Fuelmax tyres. May I ask how long do these tyres last, and whether you have rotated your tyres, assuming you will be changing all 4 tyres when they are worn-out.

Currently at about 8,000km mileage clocked on the vehicle, I noticed the tread wear of the front tyres is high. I am not sure if I can wait until 10,000km before I rotate the tyres. Perhaps I will do it earlier at about 9,000km.

Has anybody managed to use these tyres up to 30,000km or more. Looking at the wear rate on these tyres I think they don't last very long, perhaps up to 40,000km or so.

Any information would be most appreicated.

Just to share my experience.

I'm the proud owner of a fofo titanium since 05/13. Clocked 30,000km already and going in for my service this week.

Like many owners, I am facing the 2 main issues with the car ie jerking and grinding. The jerking at low speed was getting quite bad so I finally gave in and updated my software in March 2014. The results was normal with jerking reduced significantly but also with the loss of power or 'kick' during pick up. Problem now is that after 3 months the jerking is back again. Will see if anything can be done when I go in for my service. Is there any new update after March 2014?

Grinding is also obvious during low speed especially when uphill or going up carpark ramp with turns. It was also reduced after update but also starting to come back but not that obvious as previously. Wanna ask other owners if grinding will be persistent if going up long uphill like Genting? So far had no chance to bring my fofo up yet.

I am a little disappointed that the jerk and grind are back and I have lost the original 'kick' during pick up. Have half a mind to ask SC if possible to downgrade back since jerk and grind are still there but I can feel the power during acceleration again (boleh factory reset kah? haha).

Anyway, I still totally love my fofo. Nothing I owned before and even test drove comes close. I guess cars are like people, no one and no car is perfect. We just choose the best fit for us and enjoy the ride with all the little imperfections.

For those who have renewed the insurance on your Focus, may I ask what insurance company you have used, and what is the value the car was insured at? RM85k? RM90k?

I am currently on AIG but am planning to change to another new insurance company soon.

I just received a letter from Ford. Warranty reminder. Its addressing the transmission and the shuddering and jerking. Ask to bring the car in for repair if its excessive.

Anyone else receive this letter?

Do you mean the front passenger door suddenly opened by its own when the car is moving on the road when you are doing a turn? That is dangerous.

120,000 km @ 4+ years. That's some serious mileage you have clocked there. Mine is still below 56,000+ km after 4 years.

Its a common issue with Ford Fiesta; happened to a friend of mine (1.0L Ecoboost) and had been rectified by SDAC;
Howver SDAC did not issue a recall on this; they're dealing with this on a case-by-case basis smh...
Though I'm not sure if this is a common issue with our Focus MK3;

I feel your frustration..

Touch wood; other than the DCT, slight cabin vibration during idle and the (occasional) false/positive brake light warning; my car still runs and drives like a charm; just clocked 50k km yesterday. Planning to replace new tires and tint for my next step; any recommendation?

Been driving a problem drowned ford focus under 5 years of use and current mileage of approx 100k. (bought oct 2013)

- radiator hose needed replacement
- Transmission Control Module TCM, (gearbox lah) needed replacement
- two door latch gave way (kenot tutup pintu)
- back left brake light rosak
- exhaust "oxygen sensor" rosak
- batt life wont lepas one year after the original batt which lasted 1.5++ years

* apparently ford service centres dont have data communication. meaning if i replace a part at one shop i must return back to the same one for warranty claims. (well maybe im the noob here)
