By looking at the headlamp and taillamp, it is in disappointing halogen. Losing it's macho-ness.

The rim is rather boring as well. At least the are including the ecoboost option. Now just waiting for the spec sheet.

No problem. Right now the jerking of the car is slowly coming back, and the power of the car is also coming back, in tandem with the jerking. I don't know whether I should be happy or disappointed. Perhaps a bit of both. Jerking of the car coupled by the loud dragging sound at low speed is not pleasant. I suspect the clutch of my car may need to be looked at or perhaps replaced for the 2nd time. Previously when the car was new, there is jerking/juddering at low speed but there is no dragging sound from the transmission. But 3 months after the clutch replacement, now I have :-

1. Dragging sound as if the transmission is holding onto the gear producing the dragging sound, or the engine is braking
2. Grinding sound - the sound of metal plates grinding against each other
3. Jerking at low speed

Personally, I have a strong feeling that this upcoming new Ford Focus is introduced/invented rather abruptly or quickly by Ford to address the main issue of the current Powershift transmission in the Ford Focus apart from improving the car by introducing many new safety features etc. Usually the life span of European cars is around 7 to 8 years, but the current Ford Focus is only 3 years old and the new Focus is already available. The development of the new model may have started much earlier, perhaps 1 year after the complaints on the current model comes pouring in, which may explain the early production of the car.

The fact that a major mechanical part is changed suggested that the new Ford Focus is not just a mere facelift but a new model. Even if the new Ford Focus is regarded as a facelift model, the fact that they upgraded the gearbox and transmission to a completely different mechanism (other than mechanical tweaks to the suspension etc.) suggested that the improvements are tangible, big mechanical changes and not just a change in the shape of headlights or rear lights, or the addition of boot spoiler etc. all fancy kit that are only cosmetic and not mechanical.

Yes, it is certainly a good move. Not only good but a necessary one as well.

I was responding to your remark on facelift vs. new model. It is true that facelift models will usually be introduced 2-3 years and all new model 7-8 years from the original model. Facelift models are usually associated with different shapes of the light, different interior trimmings, different leather seat material etc., all cosmetic changes which are not mechanical-related. The all-new model will usually show the major mechanical changes (engine, transmission, suspension, safety electronic features etc.) Although the new Ford Focus is supposed to be a facelift model, it already has a major mechanical upgrade in the transmission of the car, hence the "facelift" term does not quite fit the description as it is not just facelifted with minor changes in the shape of the headlights and rear lights but also the major change in the transmission and the inclusion of many additional new safety features.

The fact that the dual-clutch Powershift has been dropped in such a short period, the transmission being the first that was introduced in the current Ford Focus model, does tell us something. The Powershift transmission just survived 3 years before it was replaced by a new design.

wet clutch? Isnt the new one will be using a typical regular torque converter gearbox?

Went to PJ outlet to collect my car yesterday but couldn't see any new Focus around lol...

haha ok. so only rich people la can. btw im wondering are the malaysians too rich depsite low ringgit value n rise on living cost. i saw so many merc and bmw nowadays. so many bmw x6. paling cikai big family sure buy vellfire or aplhard. and most of them keep complaining about currency n living cost

For me the new focus sport is nice only thing beh tahan is the halogen headlamp argh!!!
