There's nothing to support that..
at least on Google there isn't

it can spoilt HDD faster, even worst on SSD

Not direct spoilt. Since u switch on ur laptop longer, it wear the laptop.

First, you need to understand the torrent...........its a sharing platform that download and upload in the same time.

the torrent file will split to many fragment and locate into your HDD. Your HDD will keep searching the fragment file in your HDD to upload while downloading a new fragment file. So the HDD keep working. The lifespan may shorten.

well normally i will suggest not too...i've two hard disk having issue but then it's on downloading rig but not direct got issue..1~2 years like tat..except u are heavy downloader

When BT technology created, many ppl query about the HDD lifespan. But nowday no more ppl complain as the HDD price is damn cheap.

But most of the SSD user now still wont go for BT. Due to the price and the valuable space

learned something new today.

i use my ssd as torrent space....
until now the ssd still ok...2~3 year already

btw, me is heavy downloader...

read somewhere last time said average SSD have life span of write/erase 20GB a day for at least 5 years before 1st chips fail....

and SSD will have longer lifespan than your laptop (used normally)

if you have HDD / SDD in a pc, use HDD since it is cheaper, but no prove that torrent will spoil SSD

torrent technology is improved d, now they write into cache first before write to disk... so is less random write on SSD/HDD

above all is my assumption, please verify with google

me perday more that 20gb...maybe around 40-60gb or more if max speed.
so far the ssd monitoring software show my ssd still 100% healthy...

How about if I save the Torrent directory on External USB HDD, instead on laptop HDD?

then it will harm to external HDD. becareful not to simply unplug external HDD while BT-ing, otherwise may serious harm.

For normal http/ftp download, copy paste etc...................it just write the file 1 time

for BT it will write the file 1 time, plus many times of read for upload. Some more the file is split fragment

In theory, BT will consume more lifespan than normal http download

wahh new information.. dont know torenting will bring bad effect

Lol this is so funny. Don't worry about torrenting having an effect on your computer. The way memory and disk allocation occurs in modern OS's makes a lot of the information posted above obsolete. No offense for people attempting to explain above.

Whether you torrent or don't, it's not going to be using the Torrent application that will damage your computer or your hard drive.

Don't worry about it at all.

Do you agree that BT will having more disk reading than normal http?

if yes, then it theoretically will shorten the lifespan
