was wondering,

i`m on stock mj7, no root.

if i update to kitkat, how can i retain my apps and data in my phone?

or if it will wipe my apps, how can i restore or  backup without ROOT?
*
If you're on stock MJ7...you can straight away flash the Poland official stock firmware via Odin.
It won't trip Knox and your apps will still be intact..I think.

Though it good if you make a full wipe after flashing major update...ICS > JB > KK

No need..mine okay without bootloader ticked.
All come under one file..bootloader included edi.

For the leaked firmware..yes..need to flash bootloader separately as it comes with 4 files..BL..AP..CP and CSC

Not compatible kua.

For the external sd you need to flash this fix or do it manually.

Duhh..am really blur using script or edit/copy/paste/replace anything via Explorer. Tried replace the platforms.XML and end up losing all my My Files visibility. Do a factory reset also no joy. Lastly need to reflash again the KitKat full firmware and do a full wipe....sigh doh.gif

Any other way so the external sdcard can be fully usable..? :sweat.gif

You use the first link (replace the platform.xml) or the second link (edit/add the platform.xml)..?

1. Go to system
2. I find the platform.xml using search when inside the system
3. Click on the file and choose SE editor.
4. Find the extsdcard column and then add the group line.
5. Click the save icon on top right.
6. Reboot.
*
Am using Root Explorer..done the edit/add and save.
Am only add the <group gid="media_rw />
Save it then reboot.

Now the TiBu file that stored inside my extsdcard can be use BUT MOP still cannot read the extsdcard...only internal storage is possible.

Do you use MOP..? Can your MOP read the extsdcard..?
