Need to root the phone if you wish to have fully capable sdcard. But again...some app still not compatible with KitKat yet.

Try transfer a few songs from extsdcard to your internal phone storage or vice versa. See if got problem.

Both oso can.
One is to replace the platform.xml file
The other is to add the command in the platform.xml file.

Am using the second way.

I think you gonna trip your Knox thou you can try and see if the Knox still 0x0.

Furthermore it quite cumbersome flashing KitKat via MOP.
You need to have a separate KitKat bootloader file. The got something bout the CSC which I not quite understand. All these separate flashing might trip your Knox or even brick your phone.

Big possibility you will end up tripping your Knox but if you wanna here are the steps.
- get a separate KitKat bootloader .tar.md5 file.
- download full KitKat firmware from Sammobile
- use MOP to extract the KitKat zip file.
- flash the full KitKat .tar.md5 file using the new MOP features (theoretically. .it should boot into download mode after your flash the full KitKat .tar.md5 file)
- make sure your MOP everroot section all ticked/enabled.

- once in download mode...flash the KitKat bootloader .tar.md5 file using PC Odin.
- let the phone reboot and pray your Knox still 0x0..your root still intact and your phone not bricked...lolz

Flashing csc normally will wipe clean your phone.
And you need stock 3e recovery intact. If you have custom recovery..you might getting a bootloop or soft brick.
