An update on the rattling noise on my car.

Currently at Toyota Balakon. They couldn't solve the problem since the noise comes from car body chassis and not from the plastic door panels or B pillars covers. Hence, escalating it to HQ level. This means they need my car to stay 2-3 days for the troubleshooting and solution.

I'll leave my car here for next week and shall update the outcome thereafter.

Let's pray that they solve the problem.

Hope that this is just a minority since it involved car chassis and not the panels components. Guess I got the lemon car here.

Hopefully your car's problem can be solved..May update us about your car after fixed smile.gif

Hey guys. I just got my TRD yesterday. So far no problem detected yet. Overall it's quite a nice driving experience. Btw, I heard alot of people saying that it's not good to keep on stepping on the gas and go full throttle with a new car before dunno how many mileage. Is it true?

from my personal experience, i whack the car till 140km/h even before the 1k service. So far no issue with the ENGINE.

Do take note on the front driver side knocking sound upon crossing hump. Its a common issue for Vios.

The other thing is the loose "freeplay" mechanism used on our brake pedal... the bounce knocking sound is annoying.

nothing to do with body chasis.

if you don't believe me , ask them to dismantle all doors panel cover and go for a drive... then you will believe it comes from the door panel cover itself smile.gif

same problem as yours , "tik tik tik" .. its like metal knocking against plastic or mental knocking against metal thus produce that kind of sound. Believe me SC cant solve this problem for you. I never chose to leave my car just-like-that.

SA told me got one customer so persistence... in and out his car for 1 year all pictures were taken and noise recorded.. guess what? prob still there and unable to claim a new dashboard.. that is for HILUX

You can either do autofoam(i don't now it will solve your problem or not although money spent), or you follow my steps DIY or just open your radio and ignore that kind of sound - problem solved!

quite some number of owners here doesn't have the solution from Toyota except AromaChong which she managed to claim fullset of lower arm.

I did asked SC this morning, they said its a common issue for Vios which at the moment they don't have any solution.

i think they have stock now, perhaps 1.5 months.

I have a highly recommended SA here; which based in Serdang Raya. Its under UMW Motor hence you rest assured that they have the stocks priority.

Claim fullset of lower arm and stabilizer bar and all bushes. Fix the problem and have a peaceful life.

The door panel is the culprit. remove the whole door panel and you wont find any sound. Give it a shot smile.gif

it wont break anything, just remove the clips and you will know. or ask ur mechanic dismantle all doors panel then u will find out the culprit. i used 12 pieces of sponge and it works perfectly haha... till now as quiet as baby's breathe !

there are only 3 screws.. unscrew it and u re done to go!
