common sense, now is already 10Jan2014... your friend is getting a year 2014 car next week... then, quite some customers abort/postpone their year end car purchase due to Malaysian mindset that year registered affected the resale value. this further leads to high inventory in UMW.

Hence, i think its quite impossible to have year 2014 car for your friend.

I'm not trying to condemn your friend but just analyzing this from business point of view.

told you before, the Vios J cabin NVH is really pathetic.

but i never encounter this "krik krik krik" sound from the door side.

they said G have better NVH since they bang on the "Acoustic Windscreen" feature in the USP.

I'm not sure about J; but SA said its the same... that means be prepared for crappy cabin NVH.

yes, i have this issue at 2k+ ODO:

Following would be my complaint list next visit:
1. Brake pedal loose
2. Loose compartment bouncing or knocking sound in engine at, driver side upon crossing bumps or uneven road. Suspected loose lower arm.
3. Strong hissing sound from EPS steering
4. Unstable idling at N. Between 750-1k

its a J.

you sure that your brake pedal is not loose in sideways and produce tok tok sound upon release? Its really very annoying.

i realized this idling after the 1k service. Previously its not there.

the eeee sound is upon turning the steering wheel. Guess this is either the EPS motor character or its just a problem popping up.

lets see how.

brake pedal issue is its harsh bouncing upon foot release. Nothing to do with your gearbox.

Btw, im sending my car to Balakong SC, the self proclaimed biggest Toyota SC in Malaysia.

However, the lounge indeed is huge.

Tested the door noise, no issue for mine.

Why hurt engine? It should be the gearbox upon downhill due to low gear.

Btw, car is in SC now... Pending check on the front knocking sound.

Just collected my car at 5pm. Sent in at 2pm... Went for a spin with the technical head. He heard the knocking noise as well.

Upon collection, he told me that he tested it and no more noise heard. What he did was tighten up the lower arm screw and all suspensions screws and nuts. Apart from this, he applied grease on all possible suspension joints/bushing as well.

Following is what written on the ServiceOrder:



Drove like 10km back home, no noise heard yet. Still cant confirm if it solved the issue. Will monitor for the next few days.

As for noisy eps sound, its normal. Loose brake pedal, normal also since its freePlay mechanism.

They tighten up all 4 arms... Now my rear legs got squeaking sound upon crossing speedbumps.

Perhaps too tight?

Or maybe let it rundown first... And see how it goes...
