Is there anyone else whose aircond produces a sort of hissing sound at low speed and during speed up? I turn my aircond fan to 1 with low aircond and it produces a sort of "hiss" sound during those situations. Not a big deal but noticeable if I pay attention to it. Didn't notice it before 200km.

I'm planning to get seat cover, what's the price range normally? I went to one shop where they quote me RM 550 for a semi leather. A little pricey for me.

And pedal lock RM 300. Any cheaper suggestions? The dude at the shop say that it's not possible to install them myself. I read somewhere that the car can still be driven even if the pedal lock is still lock. Only that we can't brake. Is that true?

@Roxy

It's an accessory shop in Seri Kembangan. I am not exactly sure which shop it is but if you are interested I can look for its location/address. The salesman says that it comes with 1 year warranty.

I did not try to fit it in my car. I am not to keen on leather seat covers and I was expecting more selection. It's a wrap on kind with those white rubber to keep it in place. I find the white rubber to be rather loose. I am not sure if it will be a good fit. I doubt so though.

How will the custom made ones be fitted to your seat though? Is the rubber wrap stitched internally (like our bed sheet) or is there some other way?

When that happened to my Old Wira it was due to carburetor. My foreman did some tweak to it and it never happened again. Wonder if it's the same though.

@Roxy

Have you found any good seat covers yet? I didn't look for any since that day I went to Seri Kembangan. Am thinking that I really should get one though. Fabric seats get dirty easily without cover. Anyone has any shop to recommend?

Hahaha. DIY sure saves a lot of money.

Sad though, a rock hit my windscreen today. There's a minor scratch/crack (not big enough to be called a crack I guess). I heard there are solutions that can be applied to make it not so obvious. Any idea what kind of solution is that?

Will go get it checked then. Any idea if there's any glass shop near Kuchai Lama area?

Hey guys, do you all follow the 220/210 air pressure for your tyre? The tyres' pressure were all slightly higher when I first received it. Had fun driving it, It felt more powerful. Now that I adjusted to the recommended pressure the pickup just felt more draggy.

Am not sure if it's the tyre or something is wrong somewhere. The engine doesn't feel as smooth right now. Even the sound is a little off. As if the piston is not lubricated/takes lots of effort to speed up

Any thoughts? *ponder*

add me in , VIOS J Auto - Black owner here xD!~

just received the car yesterday xD

btw , wtf the VIOS doesn't come with buzzer ?.....
when use remote to lock/unlock the door , why no buzzer sound like beep or beep beep ?...

i asked those technician & SA ....there told me vios doesn't equip it....

and another question , is it the auto lock feature had been stopped for new produced car ?....i would like to add the feature as i step the break , then the door will auto lock
*
I was kinda annoyed that it comes with no buzzer as well. I have bad memory. I always forget where I park. Hahaha

Anyway, Autolock feature is not readily available on new cars nowadays. ECE regulation. Unless if the car has BCM impact sensing which allows auto door unlock on impact. This is put in place so that it does not delay the rescuers' attempt to help when your car turtles or something. =]

Am in a bit of a dilemma now. I used to have knocking sound from the front driver side's tyre. Complained about it during service and have a few test rounds with the mechanic. No sound at all. They are kind enough to order the part for me regardless.

Problem is that, the sound vanished. Completely. Should I still claim the replacement parts? Am worried if the sound will come back if I do. Hahahaha

Anyone happen to know which SC would be able to provide quick mounting change? I reported my issue to Balakong SC and they gave me a call saying that cars registered after August have all those issues solved and asked me to go again to check (and record the noises) with some HQ people. Troublesome indeed.

I go with 230/220 for front/rear tyre pressure. The pickup feels rather sluggish after pumping the recommended pressure. It feels okay now but I'm guessing that I might go for 240/230 next time. It's around that number when I first pumped my tyre according to spec

Hi, i wanna ask how to detect the engine mounting problem? I got the kruk kruk sound and going to claim for lower arm problem this few days. As they said my claim part had reach and ask me go for fixing. The aircond noise is loud at 2 and 3 speed as in how? And can i claim for rooftop 1 shot together when they fix my lower arm problem? Anything else i should claim?
Pls kindly advise me as im going to fixing the car soon. Hopefully get it done in 1 shot. Tqtq.

Take note that it is advisable to request your claim at their HQ, which has a branch in Cheras if I recall correctly.

Here's my experience at Balakong Branch.
1. They claim that cars rolled out after August have those defects fixed (mounting and roof soundproof, air cond sound is standard, not a problem apparently)
2. It takes awhile for them to test.
3. When they confirm that the noises exist, they will have to take recording of the sounds.
4. Then they will have to inform the HQ and ask them to send a representative for secondary check.
5. Then you wait and wait and wait.
6. If it's approved, they'll order replacement parts for your car. (Mounting takes roughly 3 months)

If you perform your check at HQ, you can skip step 4 and 5, which will save you a great deal of time. The HQ person only comes to Branch upon request, they are not stationed there. I didn't get my replacement by the way, couldn't emulate the sound during the test.

Personally speaking, I suggest that you just ignore the problem for now if it doesn't bug you too much and get your car checked during service. You don't have to take leave for the test and repair (Call them and tell them beforehand and ask them to advice suitable time to long wait). I used to be rather irritated by the sound but I adjusted my driving style a little and it's barely noticeable lest I travel on uneven roads. Not too bad I would say.

It does bug me a little once in awhile but I guess I'm not going to do anything about it until my next service around December. It's still a hit and miss but I'm too annoyed by their SOP. Can't blame the employees, they can't go against the SOP.

I agree that the roof sound is really annoying. If they refuse to change it then I guess worse comes to worst I'll just get it done myself. Yes, I have to fork out extra but I'd much rather pay happily than grunt and wait frustratingly. Roxy's recommended shop sounds good. GA Auto Soundworks I think the name is.

You managed to get the lower arm replaced. Good for you. I didn't manage to replicate the sound I had. Anyway, you might need to get the mounting replaced as well. Some people says that it gets better after the mounting is replaced, some don't. Luck I guess?

basically i didn't travel in highway. All city road and half of it is traffic jam. So i guess a bit bad FC.

I don't think it's that bad if half of your travel is riddled with jam. I travel from Seri Petaling area to Sunway to work, slight jam. I used to have around 10.5 km/l but I get around 12.2 km/l now. 14.6km/l when I travel from SP to Cyberjaya. (my previous workplace) It was pretty much 80% highway back then

Switching to a light footed style helps a lot. Have to resist the urge to acceleration and speed. Vios sure takes a little while to go up at low gear. It requires a little training to get smooth acceleration at low gear.

My old Mazda goes the moment you step on the pedal. My Vios feels like you have to charge it a bit before it really gains speed but I'm used to it now and I find it to save plenty of fuel somehow.

Edit : England error

It is more or less there. I get around that much for 100% city drive with around 40% jam.

I missed my second service time. It was supposed to be Nov 4th according to the message I received but it writes December 24th on my sticker. Hope that I wouldn't get into trouble sweat.gif

I only got 3k rebate, so that looks awfully good to me already. You might get better rebate but I don't like waiting too long. You might as well wait for New Year rebate if that's all you have in mind.

Do note that the rooftop and mounting noise are really there and noticeable before purchasing though. Else you'll be in for a noisy ride, literally.

I'm either partially deaf at the very least (which I suspect I do whenever my mom tries to get me to do chores) , or I'm just oblivious to at least half the problems stated.

My car used to make those "kruk" sound when going over bumps but it disappears after I went for my first service. I wonder why as well. The only major pain in the butt noise that remains is a sort of rattling sound that seems to be caused by a softer absorber(?) when going on uneven roads. Can't duplicate it, so it can't be fixed for now. Will see if I can ask them to just check and tighten whatever they can during the next service.

That, and occasional rattling noise on the driver side's door in my case. It ticks me but I can accept that much.
