what a jerk toyota malaysia.. i mean local assemble car really make me puke.. rather like fully import car thailand or japan !!! dont mind the price high a bit.

lol interior sound.... driver side and passenger's side also got sound on uneven road?

just backed from sc.. go inside workshop again with mechanic and use light to see the rubber. he fix it... the rubber is still flexible and nothing wrong. ended up put all grease again.

i think the kruk sound persists only ONCE time everytime i start the engine on reverse or D mode.

i strongly suspect its "ABS pump" activate sound perhaps?

I GIVE UP!!! maybe i will claim for a new drive shaft!  mad.gif

Bros and sis, dunno whether is good news or bad news, i just went to see the new toyota altis corolla and their brake pedal also loose just like vios
*
according to SC Tech TeamLeader, they're adapting this new brake pedal mechanism called "FreePlay". Its applied since the Camry XV50 model until the current Altis model.

They said "its like that". Nothing can be done~ sweat.gif

really quite pissed with this Vios.

Now i noticed squeaking sound from either passenger side front door panel or A pillar... mad.gif

Just drove the car since early Dec2013.... not even 2 months got this kind of funny noises...

really thinking to sell it and buy another one.

ya thanks, pm me please, then I sms and ask.

how about the link that I send? can trust? G spec 74k?
*
UGPM.

it stated there "From RM74k". This is the price for Vios J excluding insurance. Its totally impossible to get G at RM74k; from its OTR price of RM89k.

Hi all, would like to ask about 3rd gen vios (2013 latest model)

It does not have alarm system? What I mean here is the lock/unlock door triggering alarm sound. It is inconvenient that this feature is not available. Or I need to do something else to activate it?

thanks.
*
by default there's no buzzer sound for this lock/unlock function.

perhaps we could manually add in a buzzer for that purpose.

QUOTE(fkinmeng @ Jan 30 2014, 03:07 PM)

then 5k, then every 10k?

Test drive vios today..pickup seems not better than my forte 1.6 4speed and not reached the fun on driving like fiesta(my wife got one).
Btw, i'm keen on vios due its superb resale value..will change to suv/mpv after 5-6year from now..
In dillema now whether keep my forte or change to vios.
*

keep ur forte.

You will be amazed by how bad this Vios is, on the driving and cabin experience. I believe Forte is much better.

Why the 1k service need charge rm109? I thought it is FOC?
*
yes, its only FOC on labour cost... not the parts cost.

sending mine for second service 5k km tomorrow morning... it will cost RM78... it think this is too cheap; for a semiSyn engine oil... sweat.gif

tomorrow will double check if its SemiSyn or Mineral.

just wanna ask ur car when u on air cond.. will outside air come in a bit? like exhaust gas or the air will go into cabin when happen pass by smelly places?

plan to seal my air cont vent so outside air will not come in even a bit...

am so frus when front car exhaust gas so smelly ... argh!
*
Mine have no issue with outside air intruding cabin.

QUOTE(kelvencck @ Feb 7 2014, 03:25 AM)
1k and 5k is based on mineral oil.. 10k service interval onward only recommend by using semi synthetic.. Should be normal price for self-product branded oil.. Liked perodua semi synthetic oil also selling within this range of price rm70-80..
*
Noted, thanks for the kind input.

QUOTE(index7 @ Feb 7 2014, 09:46 AM)
Hi Everyone,

I want to ask apart from the obvious things you see on the Spec sheets, is there any difference in terms or NVH specs between a J, G or E specs for the new 2014 Vios. What I mean is that do they use different insulation, etc between the specs? I was thinking of getting J specs and then mod it accordingly, but would not mind spending more for a higher spec.
*
According to some member here, G have better NVH due to the "acoustic windshield".

For J and E, its same; which means crap.

Btw, im driving a J.

Hmm, really that bad ah? Currently owning the Vios Dugong version. Wonder if the NVH is worse in the new one. Anyone has experience?
*
Different people have different expectation on the cabin NvH. I came from Ford Focus hence the bad experience with this new Vios

I would suggest that you take it for a spin before making any decision.

QUOTE(fahmiyaeii @ Feb 7 2014, 12:35 PM)
Hi there.. I'm planning to buy vios G soon.. This new vios service interval 10k or  5k?
How about trd bodykit original from toyota, how much? I dont want aftermarket bodykit, siecnce the quality not same as original..
*
First 3 service is 1k and 5k, then 10k. 1 and 2nd service is using mineral hence 5k. 10k onwards is semi, it should be 10k interval from there on.

QUOTE(aromachong @ Feb 7 2014, 10:19 PM)
can u try one thing for me?

open up ur bonnet and push the bonnet down with ur 2 hands... can u hear any weird noise from rear absorber/spring when it bounces back?

other vios owners can try too perhaps?
*
Never ever use both ur hands to press down the bonnet to close it. You will caused the hood to dent.

I usually let it free fall above 3-4 inches so that it locks itself.

Btw, Toyota Malaysia aka UMW had recognized both the loose brake pedal and formt knocking case. They are looking into it.

Today sent in for 5k service and complaint the same case. They told me that they're pending confirmation from HQ on which cause the issue, and the rectification process. Most likely a recall in newr future.

Hope this is a good news for every new Vios owners.

Open ur driver side door... Look at dashboard, most right edge, there is a lever to pop your car hood up.

lol i got 2 noise spot at cabin, driver door and left edge of dashboard, both can stop using 1 finger to push... plan complain to sc at 2nc service...  sad.gif
btw my fren's new beetle also got noise at B pillar lol

ahhh got meh? below the headlamp adjust?
*
Its there la, a lever to pull one.

I think we can reduce the wind noice by blocking the air flow from underneath front bonet where there is a big bloody hole connecting to our A pillar.

Plan to diy and stuck something there to block the wind going through.

Do try to pop up your hood and look at each pillar... Damn big hollow space to create resonance.

wahaha found it, weird all car lever should be there why last time i couldn't see it?  rclxub.gif eyes kena stamp >.<

since it's under bonnet i think should be can block engine noise more than wind,
btw did u think the rubber around windscreen which umw cut away will cause extra noise? hmm.gif
thinking to add it back
*
Our engine undercarriage is totally naked, hence wind could reroute upwards into engine bay and pass through the hollow A pillars.

QUOTE(chienx @ Feb 9 2014, 09:40 PM)
Had u all try to open the pillar? I thk got sound proof material inside.
*
Im referring to the inner frame which you could see upon pooping up your hood.

i recently booked a vios J, but after reading all the posts, quite worried la. sad.gif

hope all is well with mine.
*
it depends on what you expect from the RM77k that you've committed.

i would suggest that you spend more time and explore other models which falls in the price range; such as Ford Fiesta, Almera, City, Attrage, Swift.

QUOTE(Ulysses @ Feb 10 2014, 08:01 AM)
Guys, any of ur car suffers plastic part fading?  I mean the area of side window n below windscreen... how to make it black again?
*
i think there is some kind of treatment solution to this issue. Do try to shop around for it.
