When you guys go to Japan, what internet services do you use? I'll be there for 1 month or so and the internet prices look quite steep. Better for the USB modems? Or better buy a phone+internet plan then connect to laptop?

Can know why? Btw, just booking the hotel for part of the trip only.

This observation point is one of the most scenic and iconic views tourists usually take their photographs as well as the photos included in postcards. However what's sorely missing from this picture are cherry blossoms!! During spring the trees will be in full bloom or it will be shade of golden brown during autumn. Summer just kinda sucks. =/ I shall have to use imagination for the time being. Technically the flowers are one of the biggest attractions for this temple.

Having said that, another impressive feat for this temple is that its construction did not involve a single nail! How does this massive structure still stands until today really baffles me. Amazing architecture by the Japanese. It's no surprise on how it's gotten its Heritage status.

There's also this fountain thingy where throngs of tourists were queueing to make their well-wishes and rinse themselves with the water in hope for good luck. I didn't bothered though. Could be a 20-30 minute queue before I get close.

And after all the walking under the crazy hot summer sun. It's time to cool ourselves down with some dessert. As we are nearing the exit, we passed by this restaurant which has porches outside its shop.

The shop sells mostly small meals as well as a bit of dessert. We ordered the Tokoroten, sweet and soured version. The sour one tasted reaaaally weird with its vinegar topping whereas the one with brown sugar was really nice and refreshing! We actually saw this delicacy on TV at the Teppanyaki restaurant a day before and fate has arranged that we are able to try them while we are still in Japan! Personally I like the sweet jelly more than the sour one. It seemed really easy to make. Just jelly stripes with brown sugar. I'm sure with Gula Melaka it would probably taste much better. And to top it off we also ordered a bottle of cold sake.

And it's time to move on from Kiyomizudera. Hopefully the next time I'm back is during the sakura season!

Hi, im going to japan from KUL -> Tokyo -> Osaka -> KUL for a total of 10 days. Is it worth to buy 7 days JR Pass?

Well if you're planning on travelling extensively OUTSIDE of osaka then think of it, if osaka only then maybe buy the regional.

Hi, I have the biometric passport with me. But when i went to the immigration department few days ago to check on it, they told me the chip might've been damaged (unable to read the finger print).

Does this mean that I will need to get a new passport with a working chip (bye bye 300 bucks..)? or I can just go to the counter instead and they'll just stamp off the visa in there (like singapore)?

Like my passport expiry is next year August, but I am traveling in April and I will buy my ticket within this year. Can go renew passport with more than 1 year from expiry?

You need renew. Traveling Oversea your passport need minimum 6 month form expiry date. Expire in August but traveling in April will not allow you entering the country becasue is less than 6 month already.

what time is the evening rush hour in Tokyo?

8am -9am Morning and 5pm - 7pm afternoon

Ya I mean, can I renew now when it still have more than 1 year? Cause I need to buy air ticket need to enter passport number. If I buy now with old passport number, after renew then need to bring both passport to update the number again for check in.
