Hi all, I want to what are the career paths that an IT graduate can go for.

Here's what I have in mind:

- Programmer / Developer
- Support / Helpdesk
- Sales
- Database Engineer
- Network Engineer
- Tester
- System Analyst

Feel free to suggest any other choices available and if what I stated above is not right, please let me know.

If you have experience on business application (accountant), being a consultant on business application is another good choice as well.

-> unemployed -> join gov retraining programme -> unemployed again
-> hired as IT officer, service everything that has a power plug on it
-> bored at work, dream to get rich someday
-> earned enough money to buy a land
-> quit job, work your land into a farm and become a farmer

Yeah, unless you can get a CPA else it's still the same as working in IT line you still under cinapek boss tossing you around to be allrounder.

Normally ppl will start with programmer if they like programing else will choose to work as helpdesk.

For System analyst (I mean "real" system analyst), normally require you have few years of programmer/ developer experiences.

Normally ppl do not like to workin as IT helpdesk for thier whole life.... some of them will try to switch to networking, server admin and other hardware related job. But it is depends on your luck and what kind of IT helpdesk you are.

But I do see some of them still working as helpdesk after 5-6 years in call center biggrin.gif
