Ederson – 7

A fairly quiet afternoon for the Brazilian, however when called upon Ederson made a crucial save to deny Joshua Zirkzee a golden opportunity.

Matheus Nunes – 6.5

Showed glimpses of quality through his passing, however his defending was less convincing, often leaving Patrick Dorgu with too much space down the left hand side.

Ruben Dias – 6

After a poor start, the Portuguese centre-back gradually grew into the game by remaining defensively composed throughout.

Josko Gvardiol – 6.5

A solid performance from the Croatian international, delivering a composed performance and stepping in confidently when needed.

Nico O’Reilly – 7

Another good performance from the youngster, who was able to string together passes to create chances before being replaced by Rico Lewis in the second-half.

Mateo Kovacic – 5

A quiet game from Manchester City’s number 8, who also struggled with the threat of Bruno Fernandes.

Ilkay Gundogan – 6

A decent performance from the German, who came close to breaking the deadlock in the first-half. He remained composed throughout the game before being replaced by Jack Grealish.

Bernardo Silva – 7

The Portuguese midfielder really helped out defensively, especially in the second half dealing with Alejandro Garnacho.

Kevin De Bruyne – 6.5

Was constantly looking for the right passes throughout and to break the deadlock. Was unlucky his pass did not reach Omar Marmoush to open the scoring.

Phil Foden- 5

Another quiet game for the Englishman, who struggled to really make an impact. Could have scored in the second half but scuffed his shot under pressure from the Red Devils’ defence.

Omar Marmoush – 7.5 (POTM)

Probably Manchester City’s biggest threat. The Egyptian made some great runs on and off the ball and came close to scoring with a great effort from a free kick.

Substitutes

Jeremy Doku – 7

Did well when he replaced Foden and won some good fouls through the use of his dribbling to put us in better goalscoring opportunities.

Jack Grealish – 6

The Citizens’ number 10 did well to progress the ball forward and retain the ball.

Rico Lewis – N/A

Ederson: Very little to do for the second game in a row, but made an important save from Zirkzee in the final 15 minutes. 7

Nunes: A good header in the second half to clear the danger, but struggled up against Garnacho and Dorgu despite having Silva to help. 5

Dias: Walked a tightrope after being booked inside the first minutes but recovered well, with an important block in the second half. 6

Gvardiol: Another game inside and he had little to worry about all afternoon 6

O'Reilly: Decent going forward, although a bit naive at the back. He switched off a few times in moments that could have cost City. 5

Kovacic: Wasn't able to dictate the game for City but kept his head (just about) to limit the panic. 6

Gundogan: Has looked better in recent games but nothing he tried came off, wasting potential attacks. 5

Silva: Has had stick this season for not seeming to do very much, but this was another game where he was used in multiple positions and helped out wherever he was needed. 6

De Bruyne: There was not last magic at Old Trafford for the captain, with some promising openings only followed by weak shots. 5

Foden: Got the ball in some promising position but didn't do enough with it. Looks low in confidence and was hooked early. 5

Marmoush: Went closest to scoring for City, which doesn't say a lot but should be noted. Has an excellent shot on him 6

Substitutes

Doku (for Foden, 58) Some promising runs at Dalot and Mazrouai but the final product wasn't there. 6

Grealish (for Gundogan, 74) Couldn't get into the game. 6

Lewis (for O'Reilly, 74) Most of the play came down the other flank. 6

Ederson (6/10):

Had virtually nothing to do but dealt with anything that came his way perfectly well.

Matheus Nunes (6/10):

Did a decent job out of position, providing City with plenty of energy from right-back, but lacked the quality to make a real difference going forwards.

Ruben Dias (5/10):

Picked up a booking inside 60 minutes of the match and had to tread carefully from there but managed to escape any further scares.

Josko Gvardiol (6/10):

Looks accomplished in a central role and played a good part in a comfortable team display, from a defensive point of view.

Nico O'Reilly (6/10):

A midfielder by trade, O'Reilly looks confident at left-back and provides City with the legs they lack elsewhere. Rarely used his pace in the wide areas but still an accomplished performance.

Mateo Kovacic (5/10):

Kept possession well enough but was one of those guilty of playing the match at too slow a pace.

Ilkay Gundogan (5/10):

Another who did not catch the eye as City's slow midfield play and lack of progressive quality caused a stalemate.

Bernardo Silva (6/10):

Tried his best to influence the game despite lacking the dynamism he has showed over the years. Booked inside the first minute of the second half still does a good tactical job for the team, picking and choosing the opportunities to drift wide or tuck inside.

Phil Foden (4/10):

Subbed off before the hour mark having failed to make any kind of impact on the game. Lacks all of the confidence that saw him win Premier League player of the season a year ago, with his twinkle toes generally taking him down blind alleys rather than creating.

Kevin De Bruyne (4/10):

Not a memorable final Manchester derby appearance for De Bruyne, who could not find his usual quality to create as a false nine.

Omar Marmoush (6/10):

Was at least willing and able to try and make things happen, forcing Onana into a good save from a ferocious strike and looking to be dynamic. The game was too poor to give him a chance of really making anything happen from his inside left position, though.

Subs & Manager

Jeremy Doku (5/10):

The game seemed to be crying out for some pace and width but Doku struggled to make any impact.

Jack Grealish (5/10):

Also had minimal influence after getting another run out in a central position.

Rico Lewis (5/10):

Did fine after slotting in at left-back.

Pep Guardiola (4/10):

Fielded a team full of players who prefer the ball to feet and lack pace, resulting in a laboured performance. Is still showing lots of faith in his heroes from the last few years who have had disappointing campaigns.

Ederson-7/10: Made one crucial save to keep it at nil-all. A good performance from Ederson who made several crucial interventions from balls into his area as well.

Matheus Nunes-7.5/10: His best game for Manchester City in my opinion. He defended well and was good in possession.

Ruben Dias-7.5/10: Made several crucial blocks and played well on the day.

Josko Gvardiol-7/10: Like Dias he defended well and made some crucial defensive headers late on.

Nico O’Reilly-6.5/10: Had some nice touches but was caught out defensively on occasions. A good learning experience for him. Although he did offer some quality with his passing in a City team that was crying out for creativity.

Mateo Kovacic-6/10: Caught in possession on occasions, but he did stick to his position, and he wasn’t City’s worst player.

Ilkay Gundogan-5/10: Started in midfield but really didn’t have any influence on the game bar one shot in the first half.

Bernardo Silva-6/10: He did a lot of the grunt work for his team but you do feel like City needed more than that to win the game.

Kevin De Bruyne-6/10: He had several shots and moments but he couldn’t provide the defining moment in his final Manchester derby.

Phil Foden-5/10: Had the game’s biggest chance minutes before he was substituted after 58 minutes. But he squandered that which summed up his performance on the day.

Omar Marmoush-6.5/10: Marmoush was lively but starved of service. However, he did see two shots saved by Onana.

Substitutes

Jeremy Doku-5/10: Tried to change the game but his end product was lacking.

Jack Grealish-N/A: Not on long enough to mark.

Rico Lewis- N/A: Not on long enough to mark.

GK: Ederson - 6/10
Made sure that his side kept a clean sheet.

LB: Nico O'Reilly - 6.5/10
Wasn't as effective down the left plank as City would have hoped.

CB: Josko Gvardiol - 7/10
Arguably City's best defender in the game, a consistent performance.

CB: Ruben Dias - 6/10
His yellow card for the foul in the first minute was unneeded, and didn't make a massive difference in the back four.

RB: Matheus Nunes - 6/10
It wasn't too bad, but Nunes didn't make a massive impact.

CDM: Mateo Kovacic - 6.5/10
Played a solid game in keeping United forwards at bay.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan - 7/10
Before his substitution, he was a vocal point in the midfield.

CM: Bernando Silva - 7/10
Another decent performance from Silva.

CAM: Kevin De Bruyne - 6/10
Didn't offer too much in his final hurrah.

ST: Phil Foden - 5.5/10
Offered nothing of note in the final third, resulting in an early substitution.

ST: Omar Marmoush - 7/10
Made better strides to try and break the deadlock, but goals didn't arrive.

SUB: Jack Grealish - 6/10
Came on at 73 mins - didn't really offer anything.

SUB: Jeremy Doku - 6/10
Joined the game for 57 minutes and didn't really offer anything.

SUB: Rico Lewis - 6.5/10
Contributed to making a clean sheet for the side.

According to the information of The Athletic’s David Ornstein, both Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz are among the options Manchester City will consider to replace Kevin De Bruyne this summer.
