I'm also a new owner. Will be doing 1k service soon. There is a whining sound everytime before the engine starts. When i off the engine, no sound but when i open the door, the sound happens again. Sc says its normal. True? Sorry to bother all of you but nd some guidance.... I recorded the sound but cannot/dunno how😊 to attach a sound file
*
That's the immobilizer arm and disarmed. Probably the steering lock or the steering motor power on and off. It's entirely normal.

Anti-roll bar will cut down the sway, it will not solve the issue.
Upgrade to better absorber will have more significant improvement.

Child safety are clearly documented on the owner manual.
user posted image

Front passenger seat are equipped with facing airbag that cannot be disable, can you imagine if you place your child in front and the airbag deployed? Please have your child seated at the rear, buckle on. There will be many parents argue their child refuse to sit tight or buckle on. But it's your child/ family safety we talking here.

Auto-fold side mirror replacement (depends which dealer you getting from) usually only come with the lower black part. The mirror, painted cover and LED repeater are not included. Which normally they reuse from stock. Ensure your stock is not broken, else you still need to replace them.

Guys, I have a problem with my elantra air cond.

It only happens when I drive long distance like 2 hours non stop. It won't happen when I drive in city daily.

The air cond will become totally not cold anymore. When I turn up the air cond speed there is a loud blowing sound buy very little air coming out from the vent.

When I reach home and let the car cool down, the problem goes away and becomes normal again. I don't know compressor problem or sensor problem doh.gif

Anyone have issue like me?
*
Yours is 1.8 and you set air-conditioning to "Auto"?

QUOTE(altezza8448 @ Oct 29 2014, 02:56 PM)
Anyone serviced their car lately? Was at Pandan Indah Service Center this morning to service my car (5K service interval) and was informed that the service during for services have increase due to numerous complaints from the customers.
If you use Semi-Synthetic, the next service will be in 3 months time however the service center claimed that is now extended by another 3 months (3+3) and for Fully-Synthetic is now 6 months plus another 3 (6+3). Can someone here confirmed this?
*
Never hear such thing, service two weeks ago. Same 6 months for fully synthetic. 6 months is really long time for a service interval. Even if I do not drive the car much, I'll still send it in every 6 month. Better clarify with Hyundai Malaysia. Else you risk void your whole car warranty for overdue service.

If 1.6, and you happens to switched on "Max A/C", the air condition system will opens up external airflow to bring outside air if it detects the cabin air is hotter than outside.

If you did not switch on Max A/C and you are always on cabin recirculated airflow mode, better send your car to check.

I wonder why you accept the car if it's 'so much' issue. I would not. I would demand them to fix it before I sign the DO. Did you check the ODO mileage when collect car?

Since you accepted the car, let's move on. Have you try contacting Hyundai Malaysia about all your issue?
http://www.hyundai.com.my/CallCenter.aspx

I've done quite some complain and they actually responded. Complaining in forum won't solve the issues. You can even go to tribunal court if you are really dissatisfied.

cheeloong1985
There are cases where owner file claim for replacement brake pads, even the brake disc. It's normal that they will try to service before honor a claim. Just go back to them and tell them same issue even after service. But if your SC refused to honor the claim, you should seek help from another SC.

Yup, the one at Glenmarie is HQ.
For insurance claim repair best send to HQ. Other smaller SC might send your car out to 3rd party or have longer turnaround.

Any1 test out the alarm system? I tried...
1. Unlock the door
2. Power down the window.
3. Close and lock the door.
4. Put the smart key 2 meters away.
5. Open door from inside.... No alarm trigger....... blink.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
Makesure you get the hazard lights blink once confirm the alarm is turn on. If it doesn't blink. It means one of your door sensor is still off. Usually is the front bonnet. Double check it.

Here's the test I did long time ago:

You are not in the FB owner group? Many have shared their service interval charges and what's to watch out.

Same goes to the suspension upgrade.
My advice to you, don't waste your time and money on buffer.

QUOTE(Jusstatic @ Mar 20 2015, 11:37 AM)
I am a 1.8L owner. Yeah everything is nice about our elantra except the absorbers / springs. I think the reason why the car came with such soft absorber is that they actually work and feel with no issues if driven on flat and nicely tarred roads. The koreans did not expect we have poth-holes all over the place here in Malaysia. Hence those soft absorbers are not suitable for Malaysian roads  doh.gif

By the way. If I wish to change the absorbers do I need to also change the springs too? Any brand and shop recommendation? I have already installed Ultra racing anti roll and tower bars. They do add alot of stability but I still feel the car's stability and feel when going over bumps, uneven roads or poth holes are still not 100% ideal or even close to 100% ideal. Hence I am considering changing the absorbers / springs too  hmm.gif
*
You can get IMProve comfort absorbers for our car, positive feedback for members' that already installed. Both front and rear available. Can contact nestum if you are in Klang Valley.

Springs are not necessary to replace unless you want to lower the car. Which is what most aftermarket spring in the market offer. I yet to find a set of spring that does not lowered but provide stiffer rate. I heard H&R got a set, might see how this year budget goes before upgrading.

It's already been done at 2013 by EMC.
They will replace to new stock absorber if you complain to your service center. They claimed the replacement are improved version. Some minor improvement but not significant. Go ahead if you wanna try again. But don't put too much hope. And good luck.
