Hi, can someone advise on Ktx pass/ticket. We of 4 pax. Will be taking ktx train from seoul to busan 1 way as we flying out from busan back to KL. Please advise should i get the ktx 1 way train ticket or is it worth to get the ktx pass? Thanks
*
The KR Pass you mean? You can easily check the fare differences in the Korail website. The 1-day KR pass (saver: for 2-5 people) cost KRW60300 while a one way ticket ranged from ~KRW53k-57k (depending on the day you travel). So to answer your question, it is slightly cheaper if you purchase the one way ticket. The KR pass is only worth it if you are buying a return ticket.

Just came back from Seoul last week. It was my 3rd time backpacking to South Korea. It's awesome to go there without a tour guide. The weather... I really love it. It's still cold as the daily temperature is between 0 to 10 degrees. If you walk outside and suddenly felt smokes came out of your mouth... that is 0 degrees and below. hehe. We stayed at Hongdae area as it is more convenience to transfer to the airport directly.

The only thing that we felt frustrated was didn't had a chance to go for snow sledding as the nearby place (close to Seoul) is no longer opened.

And the best part, we nearly missed our return flight to KL and we had 29kg excess baggage to pay at the Incheon airport. That is KRW609,000. Yeah, nuts. Shopping like crazy. We got served T________T

Need help in answering a question regarding Korail

I'd made a reservation and provided the credit card details for a train ticket from Busan to Seoul. I called Maybank the same day and they received the order from Korail for the ticket charge. With this, i assumed that i no longer have to make any additional payments as i exchange for the ticket at the train station there.

But it has been 3 working days and Korail has not accepted the payment from Maybank yet and it's still on floating status. Maybank told me that Korail have only 3 more days to accept the payment or it will be cancelled. Did anyone have any experience in booking train tickets from Korail online website? Did you also have to wait this long? For now, i have no idea what will happen when Maybank cancels the transaction after the floating time period and if Korail still recognises the booking without payment.. =(

Last year i bought KTX ticket online.. IIANM, you will be given booking receipt if buy online.. When you go to station and exchange the booking for ticket, then they will charged your credit card on that day..

Might need confirmation from people going there in this few months back

I went there last month but I bought the KR pass instead of KTX tickets. not sure if the payment process is the same. I provided my credit card details and then I received an e-ticket from Korail. The amount will only be charged to my CC when I exchange my e-ticket for the KR pass in any major subway station. Why not try calling Korail and ask about the status of your booking? I did call them and enquire about some stuff. If you're using Maxis, calling to S.Korea is pretty cheap. It's only rm0.08/30 secs. You can refer to the link below:

For Seou & Busan Subway Map app: Try Subway app from Broong Inc or Explore Seoul Subway map from ExploreMetro

Hi guys, just came back from Seoul a few days ago.

Just a question, is there anywhere here where I can find those Korean cute socks? Bought some from there, and relatives liked it. Thinking of searching for more here in Msia. Searching for a specific striped design, seems like those in lelong and other online stores don't have.

Or maybe anyone going there can help me get? tongue.gif

Where did you buy the EG sim card? I checked their online website and it bundles KRW20,000 together with the sim. If it can be bought elsewhere with lower prepaid value, then it would be an attractive alternative to KT Wifi egg for travellers. Can you also share a bit on user experience i.e. browsing speed? Thanks!

Hi guys,

Booked my car through KT Kumho about 3 months ago.

Now I check again, I realised I did not tick for Navigation & Egg Unit and I unable to click on it. Anyone know if I can ask for it when I collect the car?
