Hi all,

Will be going to Korea this coming end of March.
Usually how much of cash do you bring over there?
Was thinking of changing around RM500 first for the first 2-3 days use.

RM500 can only get 160,000 won. Errr. How many of you going? The bus ride from airport is already 16,000 won per person. Per meal per person with drinks is about 10,000won. T-Money you have to load about 10,000 won as per trip is 1000-1200 won. Can lah if you don't buy anything and eat cheap food only. BBQ is about 35,000 won per portion. A guy can easily eat two portions. You also need to pay entrance fee to certain sites so did you calculate that in?

When I went to Seoul for 6 nights I brought 800,000 won for two people but we had very good meals and a trip to Nami Island and a trip to Everland. Also includes a little shopping (about 200,000 won) and rental of a WiFi egg.

Break down what you intend to do and you will be able to budget accordingly.  A cheap meal is about 10,000 won (a bowl of noodles or soup with rice  and a drink). Kimbap and snacks from the convenience store is about 2,000-4,000 won. Beef galbi is expensive esp Hanwoo beef. We had two beef meals and each cost 45,000 won. Outside of Seoul, the beef is cheaper. At Hoenggye we paid only 20,000 won for one portion of beef. As I was there in 2012 with 4 other people, we ordered 8 portions and paid only 160,000 won. The ajumma also threw in a free bimbim naengmyeon and a bowl of galbi tang (about 6000 won each)

Just 2 of us smile.gif we will be there for 6 nights, but plan to change the rest to USD first, coz I heard that it's slightly pricey to change MYR there.
That's why I planned just to change RM500 to won initially first, and change the rest later. Or is it better to change all to won straightaway?

Hi guys, just came back from Seoul a few days ago.

Just a question, is there anywhere here where I can find those Korean cute socks? Bought some from there, and relatives liked it. Thinking of searching for more here in Msia. Searching for a specific striped design, seems like those in lelong and other online stores don't have.

Or maybe anyone going there can help me get? tongue.gif
