Ahh. Using Duron E 10W-40 here. biggrin.gif.

I think you should try DuraDrive MV as well. The gear shifting is mostly very smooth now, but the cost to switch to it is pretty huge if you want to get rid of all the previous ATF before switching to the Duradrive.

so did u do a full flush of the old ATF to be fully replaced by the new ATF?
*
Machine flush through cooler lines w/ 6 litres PC D3M + 2 litres Dura Drive MV then drain and top up with the remaining 4 litres of DuraDrive, so in total I bought 12 litre of ATF ( 6 litre D3M 6 litre DuraDrive).

QUOTE(REVIVE @ Jan 24 2014, 01:43 PM)
Greetings To all,

Let me introduce myself. I am from puchong and own a persona
1.6 AT Persona(IAFM) --Metal Grey-- mileage about 276,000 cool2.gif.
I have been driving her for 5 years. So far no major problems and i have converted to NGV 3 years ago. thumbup.gif

Currently i am looking for a complete repair/service manual and i dont think we can get it for free.
I have done alot of searching...but its not there.

However ,i came across this link ( http://e-bookmanual.com/productsproton.html ) --scrool down till you see Proton Gen2/ Persona
...where they provide a complete of 1500 pages of tear down repair/service for Proton Persona/Gen 2 ( S4P and S4PH). drool.gif

The price is about RM 662. I am really intrested of getting a copy and i am looking for some of you guys to share the...
In this case we can reduce the price by sharing the copy (Soft-copy).Each one of you will get a full copy.
Please check the link for sample.

Example:
RM662 divide by 10 person = RM62 per person notworthy.gif
RM662 divide by 15 person = RM44 per person notworthy.gif

I only know this, Why UK Persona cannot sell de strut bar ???
*
No... I was actually saying that the Personas sold in the UK and Australia (to my knowledge) has a front strut tower brace included as standard, and it looks very much like the one in the picture of the SV's engine bay, and since the Persona isn't very popular in both of the aforementioned countries, Proton used the bars instead in the local SVs. laugh.gif But it's probably just a far-fetched idea, or maybe not, as for an example Proton had apparently ordered an excessive amount of the Gen 2 style tail lights that they brought it over to the non-elegance Persona model as well before switching to the LED tail lights for the Elegance models. Hmm driving an auto, the gear shift seems to come quite late. How to drive more efficiently ar? Sometimes stuck at 2.5-2.7k rpm for quite some time only it shifts...
*
Maybe you should play around with the throttle and see how it reacts hmm.gif. Normally I'd "trick" the gearbox into shifting up by releasing the pedal a little, and then press to where I was before the gear shift.

Front absorber RM350? hmm.gif Slightly on the high side, cause you should be able to get it at around RM130 ~ RM150 per piece from spare parts shops. Balancing is front wheels only or all the wheels? The shop I go to charges me RM5 per wheel for balancing. Alignment on the other hand costs RM25.

Works Engineering or K&N maybe. kennywee92 sells the former filter while the latter can be obtained from several K&N resellers here in the forum. The price difference is at least about RM100 though as far as I remember.

Hi all,

This new year my persona having some problem. When i driving i can hear a screeching sound, not when apply brake. Anyone face this issue?

Last week the sound was on and off and now was abvious, not sure will effect my disk brake or not. Or the caliper having some issue?

Worry will give mechanic cut throat so asking sifu here.

When was the last time you have had the accessory belt and/or tensioner replaced? What is your car's mileage?

What rims are your Persona using? If it's the alloy wheels you should be able to see the brake pads easily.

I change to sport rim already, but i try to looked beside the rim can't see much the brakepad thick or thin sad.gif
*
How loud was the screeching sound? Did it start off very loudly before reducing a little and then rise again before disappearing? The FEAD belt tensioner is just right beside the front right wheel, so it may be from it.. I don't personally think that the brake pads will create such a sound especially when not being applied.
