What about LPM or Digital Tackle?
Went there last week and im not sure if the prices of stuff has gone up tremendously due to GST/weakening of MYR or shop owner simply making huge profit. |

QUOTE(katsumoto2011 @ Apr 26 2016, 10:27 PM) Angler center all selling JDM and import stuff I actually don't really need advise on how to use items unless they are super technical.Digital tackle owner dont know how to fish And his daughter only know how to collect money So dont expect any advice from them which 1 better Or how to use the item Price wise for reels, where do you think is cheaper other than Pudu LPM and Digital? Kepong Tackle out of the question as they're too arrogant. |

The siakaps in Banting are getting smaller and smaller. More difficult to catch too.

QUOTE(faujc99 @ May 11 2016, 04:27 AM) Here is the report at Tadom, nothing much though...woke up at 7am, fished for less than an hour only.. Wow, you have the balls of steel to go to a palm oil plantation in shorts. There is a paypond within walking distance from Tadom Hill Resort, but was closed for shooting, tough luck..didnt get any info on the pond as we were not allowed to go near it. Then we drove a little further in, and found a few small lakes. Considered quite secluded and undisturbed. Clear water, decided to start casting. On my 2nd cast, a curut took my Rapala Crankbait, shown below, follwed by a lot of chases by all small size haruan around 6-8 inches. Saw a few cichlids but not too sure, defintely not tilapia. Nothing big in sight. Turtle pun ada. There was also a huge splash in the middle of the lake which is out of casting distance... had to go back early for our breakie at 8am.. sorry for the lack of photos, phone was out of batt, only managed to snap 2 photos of the catch. this is actually a company team building, just sneaked out and wet my lines. It is good to know that there are still places in the wild where fishing is still possible..lol end of report Here is another photo of Tadom Hill Resort. Fishing is not allwed in this lake. Water is quite clear, and yes, a lot of small haruan also. |

The problem i have with using small sized reel is the gear ratio. I found out that sometimes its too slow to reel in line especially during times when you want it fast.
Btw im using braid for my 1000 series daiwa reel. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

You are not allowed to fish at Batu Dam unless you get the approval from Syabas.

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ May 21 2016, 02:35 AM) Yea but somehow noone is afraid of the law enforcer, till today i still see ppl fishing even there is fences surrounded along the mainroad. How do people still fish with the fence? Didn't notice any holes and the fence is not like your normal fencing.Must be the homicide case back 2-3years ago that made them put up the fence |

QUOTE(judesh @ May 24 2016, 05:03 PM) Must remember not to bring wallet when visiting tackle shops....but the Sienna 500 on display seemed to be calling me. At RM 125, looked like a good deal so went and bought it against my better judgement....Impulse shopping ?? Thats why you should be a cheapskate like me and get a spinning 500 sized reel with prawn rod. hahaBloody shop didn't have 6 lb braid so got it fixed with 8lb braid....couldn't wait to visit Jugra which I did last saturday... All the reading and advice from you guys got me all excited to try this ultralight thing... But then disaster, it's not that easy... First thing .... I was casting too hard...used to my 15lb braid on the 2500 reel...so bird-nest...First hour wasted untangling...and casting...and untangling again Then struck a baby GT...and struggled to manage the small drag...still managed to reel him in.. Second mistake, over tightened the drag hoping would be easier to reel the next one in. So you can guess what happened at the next strike, henjut too hard so my line broke... This was starting to get frustrating....even worse, there was a big group of around 8 blokes hitting strike after strike at the same pond...and they were so noisy...really spoiled my fishing experience... After that, a few bites here and there without hooking one... Really good learning experience...and really respect you guys on the ultralight setups... So, I think I got the casting part under control, should get better with more practice. Have to get an ultralight rod as my ML maybe too stiff and won't cushion the stress on the light lines... Time to go shopping again.. And I respooled my line as there were some small kinks which I put on the inside.. Also, need to spend some time learning the drag on my reel..you really need to understand your gear properly But it's the challenge that makes this so exciting...so will have to see how long I can keep this up.. Any other advice from all you experts is welcome... Another thing, are fishing crowds nowadays so noisy...I always thought it was about getting away from it all, but if it is then will have to bear with it. Now everyday dreaming of my next visit.... Less than RM100 and super fun |

QUOTE(judesh @ May 29 2016, 03:58 PM) If expert like you sure equipment won't matter... Anyway,, more important is the results right? Im not an expert. Want to ask... Anyone tried the Jugra CNR at night? Do soft plastics work at night and if they do, which color better for gt and senangin? I think Jugra is quite difficult to fish at night due to insects but you can let us know how it is. |

QUOTE(judesh @ May 30 2016, 02:33 PM) 20 years working in estate so the insects shouldn't bother me much...anyway...nowadays got all kinds of repellent so will try them out. How about glow in the dark sp/plastic bait?I'm only worried that there doesn't seem to be much lighting here, so may want to wait for full moon. looking around the internet, seems that sp work best here but most were day fishing. I've also read elsewhere(not in Malaysia) that SP do work at night so I suppose they should here too. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience at saltwater payonds using SP at night, maybe which type is preferred ? |
