hehehhe there's 2 type of tekong/ captain, one knows what's he's doing, know what time fish gonna go frenzy. Another is.. you pay for aimless cruising around the open sea. Those who keep changing spot generally don't know what he doing. If you can get fish with the latter tekong consider yourself very lucky liou biggrin.gif

for bottom a good tekong wont simply change spot.. most probably change only 2~3 spot throughout the trip. That's why jigging fellas hate these kind of boat. Anyway based on my observation for bottom fishing, generally fish goes on feeding frenzy mode during change of tide. Within that 10~20min u'll get load of bite. After that window, maybe can get few stray fish.

Tu pasal i say, tekong who frequent change places doesn't know what he's doing or under pressure from newbies who know nothing about tide.
The same water area share the same tide table, go where also same, fish not on frenzy mode, biggies memang wont bite mia, exception for those small gelama and other smaller not edible coral fish biggrin.gif

example, 12:30 am change tide. 5am change tide.

1) 6pm camp spot A, no fish bite till 9pm, tekong change spot
2) 10pm reach camp spot B, no bite till 12am, change spot again.
3) reach camp spot C @ 1am. You miss the frenzy and endup getting 1 or 2 stray fish.
4) camp till 4am, you see no fish, tell tekong to change spot again.
5) reach spot D at 6am. again you miss the frenzy and getting hits from stray.

if camp on spot A or spot B until 1am and camp on spot c until 6am you get higher chance to fully load your ice box with fish hehhehe. *provided the spot is a honey pot la.

if change tide no bite you also camp lah ?
if change place you can confirm next spot wont get fish even if it not changing current time ?

a) During change tide no bite, then another determining factor is the water current type, cold current minimal bite, warm current frenzy bite. Will i camp on, well it depends, I might call it a unlucky day and head back biggrin.gif

b) Based on my observation, yeap, no bite from biggies , mostly bite from those with no commercial value. Example, gelama, nurse shark, eel, coral fish. If lucky might get 1or 2 stray snapper or grouper, that all.

btw when I say frenzy, I mean all ppl on the boat will get a hook up during that specific window. Total chaos, you land one after one. laugh.gif

We went out on 2 13ft boat , 6 person on board.
Think Yusop has another longer boat that can take 4 ppl on board.

06.10.14 - Haji Public Holiday - CWS fishing
Location : ClearWater Sanctuary Ipoh.
Damage : rm30 fishing all day ticket.

Well just finished my work duty in the morning 8am , hands felt itchy abit to fish . Decided to head over to CWS since I got to fetch the Mrs back from Ipoh anyways. Started fishing roughly around 11.30am after a good breakfast. Although midday fishing generally is not recommended at CWS but who cares...hands feeling itchy...why not take my lures for a swim. . .. haha. Started of casting from the main dock, 30 minutes and decided to shift behind the tennis courts in line with the drive range .. .another 30minutes went by before decided to head back to the stretch along the main dock ... landed a nice Mono. While landing the mono, noticed a toman in pursuit of the hooked on mono .. but it gave up when I lifted it up. Resumed fishing for bout 10minutes, noticed a good sized Azul swimming close but no response and finally decided to head back to Ipoh centre to have lunch . whistling.gif Total Duration : roughly a good 1 hour 30minutes casting.

Ahhh long time no go CWS,.. you should head there early and start fishing by dawn. Limited land base spots. Along the CLub house lake is a good spot if the Monitor lizards and otters didnt come out to bother you. But best to take the boat out on the wetlands or west lake... plenty PBs there.

Life jacket provided by Yusop for Air ganda fishing.
