agreed. Some of my local rods can perform better depending on the type of fishing im doing. Example my Lemax Grandmaster , tarik mekong whether 23kg ka , 24kg ka ..anything ..steady only. plus local rods, kalau patah tak sakit hati sangat. recommended for payponds la .. not for casting purpose.

Last week..during Awal Muharram public holiday.... Decided to go fishing, it was kinda last minute planning so our slot timings was kinda awful .. started at 10.40am till 1.40pm... it was ridiculously hot. Not a major fan of saltwater fishing but nevertheless this is my 3rd visit, thought why not kill some time..

Jugra currently have 4 fishing holes not inclusive of the sea perch pond adjoining those rm3 take home pond. the caretaker said to avoid fishing there if possible. so the new line up was : 1 pond for MJ + Sea Perch (Siakap) , 1 pond for GT's only , 1 pond for Grouper's & 1 pond for Red Drum ( Senangin Taiwan ).

The last I was here, caught a few Sea Perch and GT, so thought of avoiding the Sea Perch pond altogether.
Overall it was quite fun nevertheless bite rates were low...well im not complaining, janji tak bangau!










Total was 4 GT's and 2 Grouper's.

nope bro .. CnR only.. GT I think tak sedap makan..

Yup bro ur right, there is always a first for everything.. will definitely give it a try given a chance. Found some good recipe's on how to enjoy GT meat, definitely with a dash of beer in it.. hehe.

Ok so last Friday night, roughly around 8pm , myself , bro Takeshiru and another friend decided to hit the pond circuit after a long hiatus.. 1 year plus.
So pond of choice was Kolam Pancing Section 24 (its been our home pond all this while, being back after a long hiatus, much to our surprise the deco has been revamped with sponsor banners and new huts, and of course new price! ) Unfortunately, the pond was at its peak capacity that night, there was no possible spot to cast out safely, thus after an hour of scouting, we decided to relocate to another pond. This time it was J&J fishing ground.

J&J fishing grounds, first impression, not bad..very similar concept to Sec24. prices are quite reasonable (of course not on par with sec24) so we opt for the 3 hour package and seated on the right hand side of the pond. the last time we were here, Takeshiru reeled in a jackpot tongsan (big head carp) putting him in 1st place on the board. This time we were here to test out our new mix of bait.

After 3 hours, clocking in at 2am, we totalled up to : 2 Rohu's , 4 Pacu's, 1 Patin. I reeled in a jackpot pacu but due to some miscommunication with the management, we were denied to be on the board for the ranking..( detaching the rod from the perambut and carrying it to the counter, we did it coz we saw everyone doing it ) Oh well , I guess there is always another time.

Unfortunately, I dont have all the pictures to share as there are with the others and we recorded video's. I do have a snap or two. Besides that, I can confidently say that this pond might not house mega monsters, but I believe there could be 1 or 2 lurking around. The rest is averaged at 10kg(+- 2kgs) or below based on a frequent fisher there.

Thanks bro. Its a good place to catch rohu in comparison to section 24 pond bro . Our first trip here was quite fruitful, 11 or 12 Rohu's in th morning accompanied by tongsans for a good 3 hours. but give and take due to the size of the pond is relatively small, the stocking of fish is less and the water quality isnt that great.

Jomm bro.. ak selalu duk main kolam buat mase ni ... dah setahun tak turun kolam2 pancing, skang duk pickup sikit where ever I left off.. hahaha Ak dok area Shah Alam bro, tapi soal pancing sampai kemane pun boleh... hahaha sekali umpan kena sambar kira tiap minggu le pancing nyer... hehe bro Pm nombor bro skit, nanti ak hantar msg .. bile team duk turun pancing nanti ak roger bro sehari sebelum .

thank you for the kind invite bro, but unfortunately im attached with the govt at the moment and I have to work everyday 8-5pm for at least the next 3months im just an normal angler, tahap sifu takde la bro... maybe we can plan something on the 16th Sept since its a public holiday.

I've used the pink spoon on ur right before back in the good ol'jurassic rawang days. . hooked up 3 toman's under such a short time of use. Indeed its a good buy, provided water clarity is quite good and good lighting is a must. slim chance in murky conditions.
