i've been using my s3 with 3000mAh battery,
constantly getting great battery usage.
i use my phone even more than previously. and it NEVER once died due to lack of juice during the day.

every night i sleep still have 20-30%, thats with 1.5+ hour voice call and 4+ hours SOT.

what i'm trying to say is, having a big battery that can give >5 hours sot on a single charge is sufficient.
rather than having 2 small battery.

buy 3000mah one la.
not too big, and still great battery.

s5 battery is 2800mah.
the official 3000mah one is even bigger.

3000mah already is a all day battery

This has been in temasek rom since the beginning of time for kitkat rom. Same for official cm

I report countless times in xda forum but no one cares.

I already figured what are the conditions to trigger the bug.

Notification led will not blink for message that are delayed. Usually whatsapp message arrive within 5 seconds after the sender send. But for whatever reason if it takes longer than that, the notification led will not blink on s3 aosp rom.

Manage to replicate this every single time. Get a test phone. Send a whatsapp to yourself. Led blink. Off Wifi on test phone and quickly send message to yourself. Message will delay due to test phone trying to connect to mobile network after lost Wifi connection. Causing a delay in message sending. So your phone will not blink the led.

Doesn't matter if you use stock app led setting or the rom led customization settings. Happens on temasek and cm rooms. Never verified it on Omni rom since I don't like empty Omni rom.

Doesn't matter if u use whatsapp or whatsapp+. Both behave the same.

what is USB OTG audio?

USB OTG works fine on temasek even without stickmount.

i listen music using Bluetooth speaker.

it sucks that phone is tied to the speaker and no freedom.
get a message wana reply also difficult with all the wires.

i like the freedom of using my phone when the music is playing.

its not the receiver side problem. is the sender side.
actually not all our message are sent instantly. sometimes delay can happen anywhere between 1-30 seconds. its normal.

I never use slimkat for long duration before.
If you free u flash it and see the led for whatsapp ok or not.
I think most likely they behave the same. Since cm11 also like that.

But if you have time try it for few days. Let me know if it solve the led issue.

It's hard to replicate on your side.
The way this bug happen is abit complicated but I hope you get what I mean.

Any message sent, sure will have small delay. For me, I feel anywhere between 5-30 seconds is acceptable. Nothing is really instant, depends on sender and receive internet connection.

But for whatsapp led to blink, it will not blink for message that have a huge gap between time send and time received. I do not know exactly what is the time limit. But for sure message that arrive late won't trigger the led.

If it bug you so much, install 3rd party led app.
I'm ok with this bug because it don't always happen.

i duno. i notice this for a long long time, but seems no body report in xda.
i also duno why. thought its my own issue. but now got another person also same as me.

how about other temasek rom user? your whatsapp message got miss led notification before?

for me it happens occasionally. 2 or 3 times a day. out of the 100+ whatsapp message i get,.

You can always restore your nandroid backup.
Why keep update? Waste time and bandwidth only.

Temasek rom already saturate with features already. Many which I never use also.

I use boeffla kernel. But governator set to Pegasus q

If u use zzmove governator, it will keep cpu usage very high during waze. So I jz use the default governator.

in your wifi settings, press menu, then advance option,
untick "avoid unstable wifi connection", or something about "automatic switch to a stronger network"

i move to slim rom already.
the new slimkat is great. they have a new recent app list that looks abit similar to sony style, but switching between app is very fast. animation is slick and smooth.

things that i loose from temasek rom.
-no more statusbar network indicator (there's an xposed module for that)
-some apps dont show 3dot menu, a problem for nav bar users. (again there's an xposed module for that)

things i gain,
-fully working nav ring target long press action
-awesome recent app list.

wifi is perfect. no issue.

camera i flash the camera fix since long ago. no more camera issue.
common, camera has been problem free for a long long time now.

it is under hardware button in 4.2 and 4.3
but in 4.4 the dev never put it.

some apps have the menu button. but some apps dont.
titanium backup and google now dont have. kindda weird.

anyway, it's fixed using xposed.

just continue using it la, you seriously throw your phone away just because no updates?

Slimkat battery is not bad. Equally good as temasek rom. :-)
