I'm using the one "Atmosphere" from Amway company, it able to do the job of CADR 250 cubic feet per mins. (aka 7.1 cubic meters per minutes).
*

I've seen suggestion of 4-6x per hour for light duty, and 8x per hour for medium duty. That equates to a space of 14-28 cubic meters at the most. Only one room. sad.gif

Definitely not large enough for the whole house. And how many of us can afford to buy multiple units of this thing?

Have you guys heard of Stadler Form?

Stadler Form is a swiss based brand that is focused on air treatment products.

There is two product that i would like to share with you in regards to the thread.

An (Air purifier) called Viktor and an (air washer + air purfier) called Robert.

Viktor (Air Purifier) unlike most brands, uses HPP filter instead of the expensive HEPA Filters. HPP filters can be removed and washed, hence it can be reuse.

Also, it comes with an active carbon filter that removes odours.

Consider this two products as it is proven to have been extremely useful for air treatment.
*
What HEPA filtering method is the micron could be small as 0.009 microns like the one I'm using. So those particles or viruses or bacteria are trapped in there are dry till dead. Let's say yours one can be reuse and rewash for 1-2times (could be more). It might be just working as trapped those particles but not viruses/bacteria (SARS/H1N1 etc..)

I got a defective unit of Super Life Ionic Air Purifier (the 17 Stainless Steel Needle from Super8 brand).
What parts inside can I hack on this negative ions unit?

Not sure... mine is Atmosphere from Amway company, mine only need to be replace once around 3-5years based on the manuals, but my machine indicator haven't turn red, using since 2012, so once the filter indicator turn red, I just drop off to my nearby shop to buy the filter.

Edit: some people I know using from Coway company which have 3-4months for maintenance, so the owners might didn't know how much or how often the filter have been replace during the maintenance...

conventional company wasn't not good, is their always renew their existing model like 5 years later, so they phase out the previous model include those Hepa replacement parts.. Usually high-end model got parts while those entry level model they don't keep stock, so have to get from oversea or ebay etc...

No HEPA filter = clean only large particulates.
With HEPA filter = even smell is also removed (eg finish eating nasi lemak, turn on filter, after a few minutes, there's no smell at all).

The cheap cheap ones will not have built in detectors.
Without the built in detector, you don't know if it is actually cleaning the air or not.
With the detector, it is easy to tell. Open the door, dirty outside air comes in, and you can see it on the panel. Stir fry some chili dish, and the detector indicate it.
Without the detector, you turn on the power, and the fan starts. Turn off the power, and the fan stops.
With the detector, I turn it on when I get home and the fan starts. When the air is clean, the fan stops automatically. If I open the outside door and dirty air comes in, the fan automatically starts up, and stops again when the air is clean. I only turn it off when I leave for work the next day.

The one I have also have this humidifier function as well. Which now that I have it, I don't think I need it. Only makes the machine more expensive. I never use it. The air isn't that dry because I do not run the air conditioner 24/7.
