its USB3.0, all rMBP has been shipped with USB3.0.
i'm surprised that you're not aware of it
i have spoken to Apple Care Support regarding it, they did mentioned about the option of replacing the Logicboard for free as i'm still covered by ACPP

MBA late 2011 is USB 2.0

None of the MacBook since Intel Core year 2006 is using USB 1.1

All shipped with USB 2.0 above.

USB 1.1 is like year 2000

Question because im a newbie here : if i buy a second hand mbp and it already comes preinstalled with MS office, how can i reformat/reinstall the OS without losing the MS Office?

also, since im getting a late 2013 MBP, how do i even reinstall it ?

Just got my new base model early 2015 13" rMBP today.

Upgraded from mid-2013 MBA and loving it so far.

The new Force Touch trackpad is really awesome and feels super nice to use!

In terms of tracking and smoothness, pretty much the same.

The only difference is the clicking feeling when you press down onto the trackpad.

On the springboard type of trackpad, it's a very obvious tactile feedback when you click on it, but on the Force Touch trackpad, it feels very soft and requires much less force to trigger a click.

It doesn't really matter much if you tap to click anyway, but I find myself to click down onto the trackpad more often as compared to my previous MBA. 

Agree with SkylineFreak, the most difference you may experience from traditional trackpad is that you can click on anywhere of the trackpad surface, and the feedback is really natural and pleasing. After using the force touch trackpad for some time, when turning back to the traditional trackpad, I find myself trying to press down on the hard surface to perform clicks haha

Hey guys, 2015 macbook pro retina 13inch , the battery drain a lot faster. I think the latest update os x yosemite did this. I thought the updates was to improve battery improvement. So, can anyone enlighten me ?

the supergloss for car can remove scratch .
bought a second hand macbook with some scratch on it.
now remove it with supergloss and its looks like brand new.

bought a case but not using it since i can remove the scratch easily.

i just sent in my Mid 2012 15" rMBP for a full diagnose.
result was quite shocking; trackpad, speakers, flash storage and screen needs replacement.
its almost replacing everything except for the logic board since the speaker replacement would mean replacing the whole top case which includes the battery and trackpad
now i'm currently waiting for Apple's decision whether to fix this unit or get a CRU

anyone knows where i can extract info from a ssd ( retina late 2013 model) this is the one with pcie ssd, not sata

my laptop repair cost here is almost 4000rm(800£) but i would just buy a new one instead, however, the data inside is not backed up. Not essential data, but would definitely pay some money to recover it

i'm sorry to doubt u but are you sure the ssd from a late 2013 model will work with a pcie adapter? just before i buy one.

Also, i might buy a second hand same model and slot in my old ssd, is this recommended?

Got my MacbookPro 2015 2 weeks ago .... BROKEN OUT OF THE FUKING BOX .... quite obvious its the SSD issue .... Sent to the AASP .... They found out both SSD and FAN have issue .... Seriously WTF .... Not one but two ... Fine .... better luck then kena toto ... Let them order parts and fix .... Call me yesterday say they replace the board and doesn't fix the issue so they going to order the SSD and fix again .... WTF you told me its  FAN and SSD, fine the fan might be part of the board so you replace the board but where the FUK is the SSD you say you going to FUKING order ... Really bad experience with apple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really want to have a one to one replace but I bought it from a LWTer so ..... MEH

If i'm getting the 128G version...
i can back up my data files/photos on a external HDD?
meaning plugging an external every time i use it?
can i re-direct my back ups to a set folder (i.e external HDD location?)

or using the time capsule solves this problem

just check machines website, lower spec of mbp 15" retina seems no difference with old one
only got better ssd, longer battery life and force touch, but is worth the price
but personally I not really like the force touch trackpad
for price comparison
