QUOTE(barbar554 @ Jan 1 2014, 10:29 AM) I think top picks like these are rather inaccurate. nothing wrong, that's why XDA titled as "XDA Developers Holiday Guide 2013"I'll be honest, an average consumer (the majority of smartphone users) will have never heard of the XDA community. A better option would probably be doing a poll on Facebook to reach the general audience. XDA is filled with Android developers, techies and hardcore Phandroids alike. So chances are, Nexus devices will almost always come out top lol |

QUOTE(Xirality @ Jan 1 2014, 02:58 PM) why can't use the phone while it charging?but 1 thing inconvenient for me for sure is, I need to remove my flip cover QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jan 1 2014, 03:00 PM) Noticed that Cataclysm ROM was quite popular among you all, am still on stock. As long time ParanoidAndroid fans, and they had yet to deliver their popular features ( Hybrid engine, HALO etc ), might as well try other ROM. I used quite some time in PA last time, that time really like per app setting, hybrid and HALO. but already bored. then moved to Omni coz of multiwindows in JB times, might going back once Omni finalize multi-windows.What would be the main attraction of Cataclysm ROM for you ? Any significant battery life difference between Cataclysm with custom kernel vs Stock with custom kernel ? Thx main attraction of Cataclysm that I'm using now is, stable, smart radio and some cherry picked customization. kernel? stock is good but I need more extra feature. popular picked kernel: faux, franco, ElementalX, etc... |

QUOTE(Xirality @ Jan 1 2014, 03:49 PM) if you're ok with bundled charger, on moving the phone freely when charging. then you might still ok with this nexus wireless charger. It's just slightly add some weight from the pad; the USB cable are exactly same length with our bundled cable, 1.5m + the charging pad feature magnet, so won't detached easily. I have no problem on moving the phone freely while charging. but anyhow, either wired or wireless charging, we should avoid specially voice call while charging....BTW, the charging pad temperature are ok, just slightly regular normal warm even after full charge. |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jan 1 2014, 04:04 PM) Using which wireless charger ? I'm using google official nexus wireless charging pad.Thx for comment on Cataclysm. Mulit windows not my cup of tea, my loyalty on PA was mainly Hybrid engine, I just hate when our phone was HD capable but icons and fonts was so bloody huge, so in love with Phablet mode of PA. Just view few youtube video for Cataclysm ROM, quite nice, with those tiny but useful customization |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jan 1 2014, 04:16 PM) Nice. Might get it after my friends got their N5, then gonna quote from Canada friend for cost to ship 3 units hereĀ that's good. as stock setting, there is no setting on tone and vibrant choice when wireless charging; for those in rooted or plan getting wireless charger. here is the Wireless Charging Xposed sharing. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by djlah: Jan 1 2014, 04:24 PM |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 1 2014, 07:59 PM) I'm trying greenify some system apps like Google Search and Play Services. These apps are eating up 10% of the battery and ART do increase the standby time too. I can't have both huh? oh, now I know why you want to greenify it. you have greenify donation or not? else, you may consider this way, use AppsOpp to disable battery drain permission such as location and keep awake. |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 1 2014, 10:12 PM) Yeah. I bought it few weeks back. Now decided to try ART. Idle time did improve but really I can't greenify Search and Play Services and its draining the battery as hell. Wondering we can have the combos, that would be good. c'mon devs. I'm willing to donate for the works. Shouldn't we? AHHH. Gotta spend for another app? QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Jan 1 2014, 10:21 PM) Erm... For me, Titanium Backup is a must have. I rarely do Nandroid now. Most of the time only titanium backup before flashing/updating/anything else. I let it run on schedule to backup my apps that is not backed up for past 2 days (scheduled to run everyday but backup once every 2 days for each apps). Before I flash anything, I run backup again then only I flash. If anything happen, just factory reset the whole thing and restore from Titanium Backup. I find that convenient agreed. TB Pro is good investment. must have for flashholics. |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 2 2014, 02:00 PM) Okay. Nice, I just bricked my phone. I went to format Persist and Firmware at CWM and now I lost my baseband. I'm getting any radio signal but I still get WiFi and Bluetooth. I get Baseband UNKNOWN, IMEI UNKNOWN from the About Phone. Any help please did you backup EFS in recovery before? |
