Slowly bro, I also have the same planning as you, either get the sub first and follow by an avr maybe by end of the year or next year! smile.gif

Was spent about 10min for a quick test during lunch hour for DZ1, 5 and 7 (pure audio mode on Bluray Live concert). Floorstand sound much better than bookshelf. However, DZ 7 slightly better than DZ 5 but not significant. The sales guy told me because the setup was home theater (speaker set to small and crossover 80Hz) that's why I don't feel the advantage of DZ 7. Is that true what he claimed? I thought when pure audio mode the setup will switch to stereo mode without cross to sub?
*
As for Dali 5 and 7, may I know, how much price is the difference between this two? If, it is not much difference, the DZ 7 is to be reckon with for long run usage (ie. moving to a spacious room later, upgrading & etc...) and if your living hall is spacious. The DZ 7 with its 7" driver size should have a lot better midrange and more detail with greater depth and can sustain deep bass notes for longer and it will be able produce bigger sound in larger space. However, the DZ 5 should be good enough should you decide to go with it. smile.gif

If compared with SVS Pb2000, in terms of output and low-frequency extension, it does not dig as deep as PB2000.

The tube amp is reasonable. No power amp. The tube amp is use in HT as well
*

Yes that is right. The AVR drive the rest including 4 in ceiling speakers[attachmentid=6993691]
*
Then the sound must be very nice? If compared using between a power amp and tube amp which one will be better? I think it will sound different with the respective amp and I haven't test tube amp wt HT setup.

Well in HT, so far I don't really hear much different. Is just that class A is good to drive floor stander and it makes the sound a lot fuller
*
I see, yeah I saw some tube amps are quite reasonably priced and if it's sounds as good as some power amp it is an option to consider. But what about maintenance wise for tube amp, is it expensive especially on the bulbs?

Of course tube amp will need to change the tube after some time which solid state amp does not require. Well the tube can be thousands.
*
I see, so any reason why u chose tube amp instead of power amp for HT setup?

I like the sound of tube amp. Is warmer
*
Yeah, I like the warm and with a more full-bodied sound of the tube amp too for music but I've never tried using it with the HT setup.

It will give you the same effect

So it will give the same effect for HT as well and it should be very good! Thanks for sharing bro! thumbsup.gif

Btw, do we need to get a good tube amp to paired with the avr for HT? I saw some like PrimaLuna Prologue 4 which is quite affordable but not sure is it good for HT setup.
