DON'T TOUCH THE OHM SELECTOR SWITCH. Stay away from it, pretend that it doesn't even exist!

Why? Because by setting your AVR to 6ohms, you would have effectively cut down on its power/current supply simply so it can dip to 6ohms and not overheat. You are basically crippling your AVR.
If it's only 2 channels, then basically almost any receiver can be used as an extended amp. Just use the auxiliary RCA input if it doesn't have a dedicated multi channel in.

Make sure to level match and set the receiver to direct mode.

With 2 AVR than yes it will work for 7.2.4 but if only 1 AVR than cannot do 7.2.4

just use the 3060 control.
671 in direct mode = same as basic spk amp

Thanks have seen that before but wasn't convinced that there is a significant difference.  Trying to make marginal improvements now to my system and will try changing to better cables.

I've set it up and heard it at my relative's house in the US, it's a potent little entry level sub as long as the room size isn't too big (below 1400 cu.ft).

So now that Maxx HT has brought them in - there is one less reason to buy fart boxes. This is the sub for those that moan/bitch/complain about wanting good bass but not wanting to spend money.

Anyone using SVS subs here? If so, any important good/bad comments about it? If I were to pay more for any other subs, which one do you recommend? Thanks in advance! 

Many who are serious about HT in Malaysia are already using SVS subs. Not only because they great subs, but because htkaki is a fantastic in customer support and an overall super friendly dude.

Sure we don't have as many choices like in the US where you can get JTR, Seaton, Funk, PSA, Hsu and so on... you're kinda spoiled for choices there in the west, so SVS hasn't really been the king in price-performance as it once was. But it's no denying that their subs are still great.

Unless you can ship in something from JTR or Seaton (and if you can, you probably have super deep pockets anyway so you might as well hire someone to DIY you some monster dual 24" subs instead), otherwise I don't think you should pay anymore for subs other than SVS - in Malaysia specifically. An alternative is Rythmik which is being brought in by Sound Fusion these days and I'm mighty impressed with the FV18HP.

Sometimes the lacking is not because of the speaker but it might be because of not tune properly

I moved my dual SB2000s to a smaller room. I'm currently using dual PB4000s.

Will update pics when possible. These days extremely busy, barely at home most days. Really miss them speakers... my ribbon tweeters collecting dust.

The dual SB2000s in a smaller room is just temporary, I still don't know if I want to sell them or keep them. I really do like them for small rooms and for a more low-key experience - like listening to music or just watching non high action movies/dramas. The PB4000s are obviously in another league and it's pretty much all the bass I want and need - until I got poisoned by the FV18s...

Bro. The Q Acoustic 3050i Cinema package i read the review quite good. Style Laser is selling them for Rm7499. But im from Sarawak, it mean i can only trust the online review. However, in kuching there is Sound Fusion. They recommend me the starkesound echo 5.1 which sell for RM5999. I try to find review online, unfortunately dont have a single review. Sound Fusion previously sell alot of Q acoustic, but they told me starkesound is alot better than anything under RM10k.

Anyways I plan to replace my current living room setup. Pioneer Vsx-323 + Pioneer Andrew Jones speaker which i believe is entry level HT from SenQ last time. 

I've only heard Starkesound briefly, no in-home experience with them. So I can't comment on it. But contact Tan from Sound Fusion, super helpful and friendly guy. Maybe you can go to his place for an audition? Also if that's the case, you can also look for Rythmik subs from him.

I recommend QA because they are the "safest" type of speakers to suggest. Meaning, they aren't like Klipsch or SVS Prime speakers where they have elevated treble nor are they warm, dark speakers like Wharfedale or Cambridge. QA does everything decently, but doesn't excel in anything. That's why it's so important to state room size, dimensions and listening preference when asking for speakers and sub recommendation.
