which altis spec u bought? mine 1.8g came with yokohama db. got my car early this month. was thinking of trading in the tyre for michelin 3st but few workshops i asked can only trade in at very low price.

have no idea what model is the Dunlop. i've checked on the yokohama db e70 that came with the car and it seems that its OEM model. i suppose the yokohama db is lower spec than the yokohama advan db that's sold on the market. but it seems that Lexus ES model here also comes with Yokohama db e70 , based on review from paultan. but i think the Dunlop should also be similar to the yokohama db in terms of quietness and performance otherwise it would be unfair that Toyota fit the same car model with different spec tyre.

from what i can find on the net, this Dunlop is green tyre.. low rolling resistance, long lasting and with above average wet performance (something like Yokohama blue earth tyre). based on the EU tyre noise label rating, it has lower noise than Yokohama DB e70! so on paper, it looks like a better tyre than the Yokohama DB e70!

if i remember correctly, my salesman told me, we are entitled to one or two free map update. toyota supposed to do it. after that gotta pay for updates

my xv41 camry lcd is even worse than this even with the backlight on can see the patches from a distant
you have very sharp eyes... if only u're with Toyota PDI... can help to catch all the defects...

i don't know if it's normal but seems like a lot of things complain to Toyota is considered as normal ... not a defect. does your Altis have loose brake pedal feeling? when u're about to quickly fully release the brake pedal u can feel some knocking effect just before release fully? the SC said it's normal, claiming it's due to ABS and vacuum pump. read from Vios forum, also got this issue and some claim it happens on the latest Camry as well.

mine has one slight patch at near the centre but when backlight is on, can't see the patch. i believe it's due to the plastic cover. as i mentioned, it's also present on my XV41 Camry which from near, when the backlight is on, can't see patchiness. but when u look from back seat, can see patchiness due to the cover.

if it's random sound, don't expect the SC to solve it. they won't have the time to find out. u'll have to wait for it to become worse until the sound comes out more regularly.
Also, do you find that the climate control temperature is a joke? set at max 28 degrees and the air is still cold even at night.

so that means the climate control sensor only controls the fan speed but not the temperature? goodness, i think we've been cheated. shouldn't call it climate control. heck, there's no temperature control at all!

doubt they will fix it ... all those sold in south east asia are like that. imagine how many they have to fix if they admit it's a defect

anything that involves wiring or rewiring, will definitely void the warranty.

that motorboat sound is what sound? the power window motor sound?

try complaining to Toyota and see if they tell you "it's like that one"
i complained to them my brake pedal when step a bit and release got the knocking sound and can feel on the steering wheel.. they tell me they compare with other Altis also like that. so it's normal!

planning to go to SC at Shah Alam to check the brake. heard they have Japanese technical expert there. just checked all the power windows, no motorboat sound. my outside door visor at driver side came distorted... curved in at the middle and was pressing against the glass. realised this when washed the car on 3rd day. complained to sales person and was told to bring car to any SC to claim. when i brought car to service first 1k, was told that i cannot claim warranty for the door visor! it's a non warranty item! wow... accessories that come standard are not under warranty? that's something new and so cheap of Toyota. the SC only helped me to bend it back but it's still curved in and can see the unevenness.

the SC told me the same thing... ABS system causing the brake pedal knocking sound and it's normal. hard to believe. so far i'm unable to hear any whistling sound from the engine from inside the car. i experienced terrible whistling sound from my XV41 Camry but then the sound is due to transmission. the sound is there only when i press the accelerator when moving. was told it's sign the transmission going to kaput. but on the Altis, have no idea about this whistling sound. mind sharing which SC u went to? i've to make sure i don't go there!

which problematic toyota car was that? no idea the price of Altis side mirror. Prius is about 1k. it should be cheaper to buy from those shops that bring in toyota parts and get a workshop to install
