I'm thinking of buying a new car. Mostly use it for balik kampung and drive around when I'm bored, not married.

Thinking between Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Peugeot 408T or Honda Civic. Don't really care about RV. However any other recommendations welcomed.

Budget around RM130k, but not fixed in stone.

bro!

go to www.myjffc.com

it is the most active honda jazz club in malaysia.
many of the honda jazz owners letting go their cars to buy the latest model.
most of these guys/gals are quite hardcore with really nice rides with alot of japanese parts installed.
better to get from direct owners whom love their cars than to buy from used car dealers at unknown condition.

You can always go for the boring yet stable things like Toyota Altis or Honda Civic or something abit premium like Polo Sedan (but without a turbo, you'll feel that paying that price for a crippled VW seems sad) then of course you can go all nutty if you really want a premium conti and buy a recon merc which i think is a good and cheap entry point for a real conti as long as you're willing to get your hands abit dirty when it comes to maintenance and not rely on service centers or 3s. Then there is another option like Renault Fluence, conti design and specs with Japanese sourced engine (Nissan) which makes maintenance cheaper than your average conti thumbup.gif

Okey then. How about  a 2007/2008 Honda City or Toyota Vios with a 2010 Hyundai Avante ?

Honda city 07/08 is using cvt, good for fuel consumption.
But if you buy a lemon it's quite costly to repair.
My current city is fine but still pending a flywheel & starter change when got money.
Those two items will be about 1000 to replace.

Thanks...
Renault Fluence seems cool... How about the fuel consumption?
Actually I like Mazda 3 and CX-5 design, but overbudget..  :sweat:or should I consider used unit?

3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : 320i Normal/SE
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : - NA
7. Type : - Sedan
8. Remarks :
- Fell in love with the 3 series ever since it caught my eyes.
- The real problem is this:-
A) Not enough cash to buy brand new
B) Maintenance cost (is it really that bad? Air Filter/Oil Filter? ATF? Check engine light?)

Anybody which has experiences and/or advices with bimmers?

hi, just to asking here...

For toyota vios spec s 2008, mileage 100000km-130000km, the owner want to letgo rm47K.. How about the price. It ok with the current value market for today? Thanks
*
6 years old car = 21,000++ km per year

even if the owner was religiously taking the car for service at the service center, he probably is parting ways with it now that big money will be spent soon.

absorbers normally rated for 5-8 years service life
springs normally rated 8 years service life
bushings will usually wear around this point
mountings if they are still the original ones will also wear around this point
engine and gearbox if was maintained well at the service center should be fine, but carbon deposits will be getting more significant, carbon cleaning recommended worst case overhauling.
