My parents Sanyo last for 15-20 years still using.
I have samsung, daikin, hitachi, and pana all in the same house. Plant to change all to sharps my next house any one got experience?

I got hitachi in 1st DC inverter 1hp fan coil unit of PCB failed within 3.5 yrs, so for me even Japan technology just so so, unlike Supersound bro said, must buy sushi, unlike kimchi won't last longer.

But I never change the PCB already whole unit Aircon I switch to MitsubishiElectric starmex already rclxms.gif

Sanyo Aircon is a good brand before, I guess it everywhere has rusted & plastic become powder already.

It depends greatly how we use it, if trashing like no tomorrow, it will fail faster.
When the air cond still have warranty, I'll trash it(but electric bill will kill me) and if that is not owned by me also I'll trash it and see will it sustain. But not all brands can sustain sweat.gif

Like you said how many Aircond can last this long. These days home appliances got lots of electronics.

I am of the opinion that at times it's all boils down to luck. So long as the product does not have any inherent problem. Traditionally japan better but Korean has come a long way. I as lo got samsung air cond so far so good.
The reason I am choosing sharp coz it's the cheapest. That's the only reason

Sharp don't have any Ads for thier products, even has new faces & items you got no idea for sharp products.

Sharp is more or less better than some brands.

Indeed yes, but still ask opinion from sellers(3-4 shops) and service centers that service multiple brands. In Seremban, Ritak is the only service center that service Samsung, Philips, Toshiba, Pioneer. I sometimes have to buy parts from them(repairing my old Pioneer player), Samsung's appliances always in their shop while other Japs seldom. Ask them also they will say Samsung tends to fail faster during warranty period shocking.gif Again this can't really be a benchmark since you may think this is isolated case. But when I buy parts from Panasonic SC, air cond failure are the least comparing to other appliances(LED TV the most)
For me, buying Japs brand are for peace of mind while buying Kimchi brands are gambling my luck, so far my gambling luck sucks, so I won't gamble.
For electronic parts, it can fail faster can high maintenance cost. Like a donkey years ago Sony CRT TV I only need rm200 to repair a circuit board(lightning strike) but a Sony 47" LCD need rm3+++ to change the circuit board, due to IC leg are too near(can't be changed)

Try York non inverter but used R410a gas, next time if wanna switch to inverter there is no issue at all.

Price much lower than inverter unit.

Thanks for your insight. To me Aircond is just Aircond. I guess I am more price conscious than brand conscious and sharp is a good balance of both.

I thought after 1 year warranty most ppl will just call outside technician to service or repair the aircod. My cirrent house has 4 Aircond of different brand. So this time thought of streamlining it. Will be getting 6 new unit since there is not much discussion on sharp thought of asking here instead to get a general consensus on it.
Talking about japan brand, my pana LCD tv of 3-4 years just died on me whereas my bro and dad toshiba which is older than mine is still going strong. So I guess it really depends on luck. Will probably get a Philips since it the cheapest with the most feature.

For inverter models with IC board fail, outside tech can do?
Sharp is ok what? They are still in the market means their product are not bad.

Yeah Samsung is the leader in LCD led I guess. But I see Philips not bad. 40in led with USB that support rmvb just around rm1200 with 3 hd I and antenna input too.

Inverter donno lah but it doesn't Appel to me since I am not a heavy user. My bed room in general 2-3 hours per day. Living room and study rarely use. Second room daikin only on like twice a year.
So yeah sharp strike the balance between branding and price. Thanks for your input

Samsung's TV no doubt is very bright but even sellers also don't recommend it if want to use for long hours.
That's why I never buy inverter, just the normal non inverter, less headache thumbup.gif Any outsider also can do since less fragile electronic components are used thumbup.gif

I am the user wow... Just trust me..

Samsung led much better result at all, but price also much expansive than others.

Kimsim never cheats those ppls before, like Irobot vs LG roboking, for sure I would suggest them get LG much better and quiet.

Well, I'm not OKU, so I never think of robot cleaner.
Also, too bright are good for doctor's business, why I want to waste more money for a TV that can deteriorate my health?
