Hi guys..need your help here. I got two option to buy air cond. one is pensonic (cheaper one rm799) and York (rm 1080). both non inverter and just 1.0HP.  which one is more less maintenance and more durable? my room is 15X15 ft. is there any issue with just 1.0 hp?

Thanks for your help guys.. brows.gif

[WTA] How much to service 1HP Panasonic Inverter AirCond (Refrigerant = R410A)?

Someone quoted me up to RM350

My Aircond no longer cooling.

Refill gas or what?

How come so expansive in KL?
For jb only cost at Rm150 if the gas pipes really leak for full more an cost more.

Anyway should check gas pipe leakage 1st..

Good Aircon won't be easily not cooling at all.

Buy 1 tank for what?
Business for own...

Refill gas at only need 20-30% of the full tank..
Rm350 can buy 1 new tank easily.

Just take note...
Good in condition Aircon gas can last up 10 yrs unchanged.

If gas leakage can be 1 or 2 days all gone, also can claim back from aircon installed with zero cent.

If take longer time for cooling down with longer piping may top up gas when completed installed at around Rm80-150 max cost only.

The cheapest is Khin Guan at Plaza Mahkota beside MP.

The most experienced installer, the boss is Tiga Bintang/San sin at Peringgit.

Ackson is similar to York inside out as both comes from same plant.

ME and Panasonic I guess are the best.

Am scouting for new sets of aircond (1HP x 1, 1.5HP x 1 for Master Room and 2HP x 1 for Living Room) for my 2nd house which is going to be for my parents use.

Am a loyal Panasonic aircond supporter lol. Just even got myself 2 display sets from Courts for total price of RM1.3k. One is a 1HP Eco Navi and another is basic 1HP. Going to install it at my current house.

Been to few big shops (HLK, OnKing, Seng Heng & Courts) to compare prices. Seems that most of the sales man recommended me Hitachi. Price also quite cheap compared to the rest of the brands.

Now i have narrowed down my choices to this 4 brands. Price wise both Sharp and Hitachi quite cheap for it's IONIZER model. Performance wise i need your input.

1. Hitachi
2. Sharp
3. Panasonic
4. Mitsubishi

Hitachi's the cheapest in Sengheng, seems everyone's recommending Panasonic and Mitsubishi - they're good might have some truth in it..probably due to abundance of parts and good after sales support as they're made in Malaysia (Panasonic got one production plant in Melaka)...

I don't mind getting Hitachi or Sharp though..

There's super cheap brand called Morgan, just RM699 for 1HP and RM899 for 1.5HP lol...

Ionizer or plasma are marketing gimmick only. Those filters needs to be changed frequently.

The Sharp plasma cluster equipped aircond are really good. I use an inverter model in my kids room and set it to 28 on most days with 1 speed ceiling fan. 27 on hotter and 26 if hotter still but with ceiling insulation that's not necessary. Sleep mode is a feature I would like to see as the early mornings are already cold at 26 or 24 degrees depending on season. Basically it's on to keep humidity low. Too cold would be too dry. 28-27 is ok for little children esp infants. Any lower is asking for trouble as that would induce lungs to dry faster and cause them to get asthma.

27-28 are night time temperature. You just need to open the windows and let natural air comes in.
Insulating ceiling are a bad idea as that layer won't do any good on removing heat at night.
