brother

any idea with she 9500

any cable suit it?

i 1 to replace the cable

got any thin cable n good quality 1?
*
er... not really
if u want, can try silver coated cable. and heatshrink.
but the cable will some how "hard" a bit compare to normal original cable.
u can come over to listen.
i don't recommend to replcae cable IF your headphone/earphone cable is damage.
no point take the risk.
and i worry that one might feel not happy about the cable after recable. they might prefer original one.
so think twice before recable. i also very scared when i recable my koss. (volume control is some how crazy in my case) i want to remove the volume control at first. then i end up changing whole cable, as the internal connector cable for original cable is so soft, i afraid it is not durable after i join them up.
yeah guy, come over my place, then u thouch the heatshrink (1MM + 3 silver coated cable) so u know how hard it is. if u decide to change, that one can fit into your she9500.

woo..business getting merrier...

Pcwork just found his second devotion others than gf..

Hey man... I got another IDEA bout Grado... check ur PM.
*
i still miss my girl fren... cry.gif cry.gif luckily she come visit me quite often.

QUOTE(yrh0413 @ Jul 13 2006, 09:34 AM)
smile.gif Some feedbacks as promised:

Setup:
EMU0404 and original analog breakout
Custom made dual 6.5mm mono male to 3.5mm stereo female (RM15)
PcWork's custom EMU0404 D9 to 6.5mm stereo female plug
6.5mm stereo male to 3.5mm stereo female converter
Altec Lansing ATP3
Altec Lansing el-cheapo RM30 headphones
^ lolz, ultra low budget setup laugh.gif

Received the cable yesterday afternoon, and plugged it on my EMU card straightly after i reached home. Found that the screws of the D9 connector is too troublesome to screw it tight so i took our the thumb screw from the original EMU analog breakout cable and tried to replace it on PcWork's cable. No avail though coz it just won't fit.

Argh, never mind... just stick with the small screws then. And there it goes... i connect PcWork's cable to my 6.5mm to 3.5mm converter, and plugged in my headphones. Oh man... its really sucks! The bass was very muddy and the vocals were unclear. But then i never tried pairing this headphones with my EMU card as i don't have the proper breakout cable.

Next test is on my ATP3. First thing i notice... very obvious improvements! Bass is very tight and the vocals are clearer now. Moreover it manage to pick up a lot of details that i never heard before on those particular songs. I auditioned it in my room from 8pm to 11pm and still i was amaze with it thumbup.gif

Thanks man! Really appreciate this cable! But then... still funding for AegoM blush.gif
*
i have worked so many part time and i get money for aego m. but for reason i almost finished study here. i can't buy it right now.. sigh sigh...
and brother, ur feedback scared me at first lah. when i read the "underlined" part i was like " shocking.gif OMG, is tat i connect the wrong wire in the emu breakout..... shakehead.gif " and i almost click to pm you so that you send me the cable back. hehehe luckily.... u got happy experience with it afterthat... notworthy.gif

BTW. why u prefer 1/4" female? if u going to use with ATP3. is better to use a 3.5mm female straight away. as the converter might influence the sound a bit.
how ever. if you plan to buy Senheiser/grado headphone. then big plug will suit you.

QUOTE(elhh82 @ Jul 13 2006, 10:45 AM)
Heres some feedback from me too, got my cables on Sunday, sorry posted these comments a bit late. I got the RCA - RCA cables with the canare plugs.

I met up with PcWork in Serdang on Sunday, and we had quite a long chat. You can see that this guy is really proud of his work, he kept telling me stories about the cable, and showing me parts of the cable. He took the cable back so many times to show me stuff, i thought he was going to change his mind and not sell me the cable.. laugh.gif

Anyway, i've been listening to them for the past few days on my Silverstone EB-01 + Aego 2 setup, and i'm quite impressed. If you listen to jazz music i'm sure you'll love these cables. The acoustic instruments all sound much more pleasant and realistic compared to the standard aego 2 cables i was using before.  Quite obvious improvements in terms of clarity and details.
*
Thanks a lot.. indeed. i really like the cable. i wanna built one for myself. but i cannot found a singel piece of audio equiptment in my room using RCA.....
and ur cable i took a lot of afford to make. cut all those wire just ngam ngam long. everythings. it's like the best piece of cable ever since i start to do cable.

QUOTE(Tachikoma @ Jul 13 2006, 10:08 PM)
btw, why are the cables directional?
*
as advice from alamkalor. i grounded the shield in 1 end only. imaging if you connect the shield to both side. so there's a possiblities that the intefere signal will goes into amp/ output route.
and normally source have "safer" ground, which will terminate the inteference more efficient. therefore' i only ground one side, and the other side wraping up with heatshrink tube. so what ever the interference signal hits the shield, MUST be sent to the source/player ground channel.
and from what i observe. most factory made high end cable also directional. they use a tag /different plug to indicate that.

QUOTE(elhh82 @ Jul 13 2006, 10:54 PM)
The ones that he sold me is uni-directional
*
no no. there's one place with white rubber band, that should be connected to SOURCE. your cable also directional. i told u that already when the first time i take ur cable back that day.
=P

Threadstarter, you got skills in making cables. I've viewed the photos in this thread. cantik cables!! Do you make Instrument Audio cables? For guitar, keyboards, mixers etc. I've got a instrument cable (2 mono to 1 stereo) made by another guy and it looked like shit. Use black tape to tape wan..and charged me RM35 some more!

btw, I would like to make a few nice looking highquality cables for my musical instruments setup. (for Playing live and studio)

two types:

type 1:
normal guitar cable: 1/4" mono to 1/4" mono
With quality cables and Gold plated plugs. how much will it cost to make 3 meters? each meter add how much?

type 2:
two 1/4" mono to one 1/8" Stereo (From my Electric Keyboard to PC's sound card) High quality cables and Gold Plated plugs. 6 meters. how's the price?
*
you got private msg.

QUOTE(ifer @ Jul 16 2006, 01:16 PM)
gotten my canare cable from pcworks yesterday. and tried it last night and to my suprised, it sounded better than the previous 'blue' cable that i got from pcworks. forgot the name of the blue cable. hehee!

i used my grado sr-60, connecting the canare cable to my ipod photo via cmoy headamp of eokboy through the line out. i got the adapter few months ago.

and i love the quality of the sound. the sound stage is abit wider in my opinion and it's slightly brighter (which i like) and the bass is still the same... tight tight and fit fit. ahahaa!

thanks pcworks
*
that's why i am so excited telling you. if you found no different between the two cable. u may choose give me back the cable (the new one of course. hehehe) . and i will full refund. no point u buying two exactly same cable. i got confident of the cable. hehehe. i am glad you love it. and the blue cable is SATO cable. =)

QUOTE(shreaker @ Jul 16 2006, 11:42 PM)
Do u do cable repair/replacement?? I got an old logitech z640 5.1 system... the main cable (i.e. the cable connecting the subwoofer and the pc) has been cut. Brought it to an av specialist last time, he soldered the cables back, but no joy... the speakers still don't work... If possible, prefer medium grade cable, not high end cuz it's just a low-end speaker...

If possible, please PM me, thanks!
*
i think it's a stereo - stereo connector.
just refer to my first page if you need it, there have the price.

3.5mm-3.5mm stereo conncetor.
UPGM again for my contact. i think it's better u bring the things over my place since you also from KL. and pls be prepare to recieve tons of poison. lol
PS: refer to marquis about his experience comming to my place.

thumbup.gif Hope U enjoy ur AEGO M...
notworthy.gif GOOD JOB MAN...
*
yeah. it's been 2 years waitting for AEGO. from AEGO2. until now AEGO M. and i think i buy it with the money i earn myself is more joyful.
If i am really that itchy and changed the stock cable. i will let you know. and u may come to have listen. =P

That should be no problem, should be a standard RCA jack anyway.
Wanna open mine then? biggrin.gif

perhaps =P if you really wanna open it. u come over. we together think a way to open it without leaving a scar on it.
about RCA. it's should be no problems. the only problems is F-10 is damn fat and long. i afraid the satelite can't stand properly after using f-10.
hehehe
can u try and let me know? just plug and let it stand.

QUOTE(marquis @ Jul 18 2006, 02:48 AM)
Guys, I'm telling ya, if you love your wallet and it's contents.

DON'T GO TO HIS PLACE!

Serious shit man. The things he has there, the possibilites of what he can do to ur current headphone/speakers/set up is endless!

Thanks to him, I'm now thinking of recabling the sr60 sweat.gif There goes all my money laugh.gif

Tried his modded ksc 75. Sweet mother it sounds good. Check out the ksc 75 user's thread on my take on the recabled 75's. Hehe.

Well I'm a believer now. Cables actually can make a difference biggrin.gif

Using his canare right now.

First take...Hm...Bass slight improve. Ok lah. Listening to techno mostly at this point.

Went back home, going from techno to pop to rock. From DJ Tiesto to Avril, to Linkin Park. Then stumbled on Kiss From A Rose by Seal.

Whoah. Details baby, details! And this with an SR 60 laugh.gif Wonder how it'll be like with the ksc 75 (which my sister abducted).

Hehe. Not so much on bass the cables. More on clarity and gives a slight impression of being wider. But details baby! Haha tongue.gif

Needless to say I'm one happy owner.

EDIT:

Eh....I take back the part on the bass. Hehe tongue.gif

Listening to King of Sorrow by Sade now...Suddenly it sounds so good. I was like, "eh?". Switched to the bundled cable that came with eokboy's amp.

Fuh. Got difference leh. Hehe. So yeah I take EVERYTHING I SAID about the bass. I think coz I tried those songs in a noisy environment, so didnt' really feel the difference.

Hehe.

PcWork, you da man lah!
*
brother. i do nothings that day rather than change plug for ur SR60. i didn't ask to recable all your things eh. i only let you listen my "demo" unit.. hahaha. but i can see. u really kena poison already.. haha good for you.
next week when i got aego M i might able to boost it's sales. hahahaha
anyway. thanks for your support. you a nice guy. willing to travel so far to my place. notworthy.gif
and i think u really understand why i can't make the work outside right?

ps: and i believed that alamaklor's koss ksc75 with added resistor should sounds much more better than mine.
because theorically it should sound better. that's what i believe flex.gif
too bad cannot go canada and have a A/B test.
=P
