btw anyone using the additional grip that comes with the x-pro 1/xe1/2? I tested it out and I don't find a big difference..prefer it without the additional grip actually..with that grip it makes my fingers so uncomfortable (esp my pinky and ring finger)..

yup this i have to agree with you. when I was in Seoul the temperature was about -5º for 1 or 2 days..took about 50 shots each day still had half battery

but the body is DAMN cold..i don't like wearing gloves so the full metal body of the xp1 and the 23mm is freezing 

Yup..my X-E1 don't have. I wish next update body like X-E1 got face recognition.

My gf brought my X-E1 to Sweden before, not sure about the temperature but should be able to withstand?

I am still tkinking getting 14mm, should I sell 35mm and cos 23mm seems more forgiving. I wish the x-e1 have face detection. below f4 at the street is not easy for 35mm in crowded scene especially without the focus distance indicator.

the 16-50mm lens actually cover the FOV of 18mm and 27mm, which i think there is no reason for you go buy those three lens together, in the end you will just stick to either one.
so for your case, 16-50mm is sure come with your XM-1, and does it still have the free 18mm f2 lens deal? if have then grab it fast. The 18mm f2 lens is a very fast lens and you will appreciate the f2, compared to the 27mm f2.8

i assume your night view picture are those like putrajaya night scene? then 18mm f2 is surely yours, but if got money go grab the 14mm f2.8. For now grab the XM-1 with 16-50mm and the 18mm (if the 18mm free deal is still available), and you are good to go!

exposure compensation dial is to set what kind of exposure u want. 0 means the exposure is like how u see it, u + 1/3 +2/3 +1 it will make the photo brighter by camera setting, EG if it is in aperture priority mode then it will use a slower shutter speed or higher ISO if auto ISO. opposite for -1/3 -2/3 -1..faster shutter speed/lower ISO

Of course the XE2 and 23mm will perform not as well, but is it good enough for your needs? (e.g. taking picture of stranger walking in the street)
Also the EVF in low light, does it "lag"? Back with my XE1 I decided to sell it after realizing that it was nearly impossible to focus AND manual focus in low light because of how the EVF was refreshing at like 7-10 frames per second ): like watching stop motion.

Hi! I'm using the Eye-Fi card on my X-Pro1, which in turns sends all my photos back to my Nexus 7. So far I don't have any complains on how it works. The X-Pro1 have this nifty feature that allows the camera to go into powered stand-by mode for 20 minutes (I think), so your pictures will still transfer even after you flip the power to OFF!

Battery consumption wise, yeah it will probably shave some life off your battery but... the convenience of having your photos appear on a tablet with bigger screen can easily outweigh that concern.

That depends on you, normally a lens hood will be good enough to prevent unwanted damage to your lens. If you want to be more rest assured, a good lens filter is a good choice, there might be some very minor degrade, but if that doesn't bother you much, go for it.

A recommended filter would be by B+W

Almost sell all my dslr..thinking of getting 14mm and another body..I'm thinking XM1+14mm. AAny testimonial from X-M1 user that might help me to decide or wait..Currently enjoying X-E1/1855/35mm..

Good point lol! As for me I bought EM5 because I thought I could never live without viewfinder, but after a few years ahem... tiltable LCD viewfinder made me forget about the EVF. Wondering if anyone here experienced the same thing.

I used my existing Filter set onthe XM-1 with step up rings. The kit lens for XM-1 is a bit flimsy with large filter. So, you may want to consider smaller filter (e.g. Seven5 Micro Filter System )  if its only meant for this system.
