Was at Kuantan over the weekends for the National Pharmacy Sports Carnival held at IIUM and managed to use my XT1 quite abit.

The AF-C was kinda erratic (probably because it was the first time I was using the function) but the single shot AF was fast enough for certain events IMO. Quite impressed really. Realize that I'm not too big of a fan of what the 23mm 1.4 does at 1.4 though, not as good as the 35mm I think.

do u mean the sharpness? hmm.gif

Yep. Not that it isn't sharp- for a 1.4 lens I think 1.4 is still useable. I haven't shot too much in f1.4 yet to make a solid conclusion though. I think I'll do a test this week!
*
oh. maybe u are getting defective unit.and maybe u can send to fuji for a other unit smile.gif

i own xf 35mm but hearing to what you said that xf 23 is not sharp at 1.4,im quite surprise

makes me holding back from getting xf 23 haha

latest review on xf 56 as compared to canon 85mm 1.2.rm3k lens vs rm8k lens biggrin.gif

im quite shock when he's saying that the image quality of xt1 is closer to a full frame (in this case 5d mark 3) biggrin.gif

Sorry I wasn't referring to your post.

Roughly365 has a deep insight on his daily use of 5D and X-pro1 and how he pretty much sums out that the xp1 is one heck of a good value for what we are paying for.
*
his major frustation is the misfocus problem with x pro 1.well this is main weakness of earlier generation of fuji camera including mine,x-e1.honestly im quite frustrated with the focusing system in xe1 when paired with most complained xf lens regarding AF system xf 35.

this is only when i magnify the image to 100% then only i could see the mis focus especially when shooting people face. maybe i need face detection on the camera

luckily the frustration covered by the superb image quality of the camera and the lens. i've never regretted my decision buying it smile.gif

maybe the xt1 has fixed the problem biggrin.gif

nice! I wonder if you can only shoot these milky ways in Kuching without the interference of light pollution
I understand your frustration, I myself am a X-E1 user here.

Shoot at f/4 yo, seldom use f/1.4 and you have to be careful when using 1.4.  laugh.gif
*
why always shoot f4? i always use 1.4 btw. i just cant resist the bokeh

maybe there is something wrong with my shooting skill tongue.gif

btw the latest tele conversion for x100/x100s.

it looks big laugh.gif

I assume it is blurry also because it was rocking a bit?
*
yeah. i think so. maybe due to water current itself.now i felt that 16mm is too tight for seascape landscape. maybe it's time for xf 10-24mm? blush.gif

Heeh.  I pass on the 10-24mm.  Too big that I doubt I'd be carry it all the time.  I went with the 14mm PRIME and love it.
*
yeah.im foreseeing myself will be having same feeling if i get the 10-24 .it looks big.maybe almost similar to nikon 24-70.lol.

maybe getting samyang 12mm f2.cheaper and got faster aperture.not sure either i'll be used to the manual focus lens or not sweat.gif

I am looking for 35mm F1.4 what do you guys think?
*
it's a great lens IMO. the contrast, the sharpness, colour and the way it renders noise at high iso just spectecular blush.gif

the only lens that i own. i mostly using it to shoot outdoor. but indoor bit tight especially taking group photo. for that xf 23 maybe suits ur needs smile.gif

I have 16-50mm kit lens .... and I sold my 27 F2.8 so I plan get either Carl Zeiss 32mm F1.8 or Fujinon 35mm F.14

Confused :/
*
ohh.i dont either the 3mm difference will make a different as i havent tried the zeiss but im sure the difference in aperture between 1.4 and 1.8 makes lot of difference especially shooting in low light condition. but the 3D looks that xf 35 created just impress me.luckily i havent sold it yet tongue.gif

anyone who owns xf 18mm can give some opinion and lens on the lens perfomance? the lens quite underrated based on the review on the web.

the chromatic aberration, softness at edge at f2.

but when i justify the price and portability (almost similar to x100) ,i just cant resist it.yet still hesitate

Shot wide open at f/1.4, ISO6400 and further post processed to push the details  brows.gif not bad for a APS-C sensor!
*
really poisoning. but the noise quite visible hmm.gif

btw how often u use ur xf 18-55? is it xf 23 alone enough for travelling?
