i’ve been saying this about Raytech for awhile.... I have been thinking that there is a magic number of TSER for the amount of VLT.

My take is that for a VLT of 70%
Max TSER is only 50% +-2%

But they can claim higher because of better IRR coverage. Ah well.

hear the same on Ecotint brand as well. on paper, it got high percentage of IRR, TSER, but on real usage, it does feel hot. not sure if it overclaims as well.

Yes, Ecotint as well.

I think tint sellers should be more conservative with their claims.

At least Raytech is OEM from the US. Ecotint is unreferenced.

I once, installed Ecotint, and the seller rolled the tint from another manufacturer to install.

I asked him, and he said “sama punya”

Hence, i stopped using Ecotint

Hey, Raytech attacker. Mind your words. Please don't simply comment and please pay respect on others.
You are welcome to Raytech HQ, Seri Kembangan with your camera man. We show you proof.

A bit too combative?

I mean, what I would like to know if how Raytech, with similar VLT, IRR and UV be better than other big boys in the tint industry.

Could you share with us your TUV certificates and actual TSER readings?

Big boys are: 3m, LLumar, Huper Optik, Sun Tek, and a few others

Is VKool still suffering from fading?

I wonder who makes the OEM tint for VKool?

Huper Optik is a good brand.

Sech 60 front + C40 all around is a commonly recommended combo, but I'm not sure if it is fully JPJ compliant.

For example windscreen is required to be 70% VLT, Sech 60 is only 59%. Secondly, the driver and front passenger windows supposed to be 50% VLT, C40 is 42%.
*
Agreed.

The only JPJ approved window are rear and rear sides.

Front windscreen is illegal and front sides are illegal. JPJ can stop and fine you

Dear all,

I got quoted by a Huper Optik tint SA which is recommended by my Honda SA.
I wanted Huper Optik..however i think the price i am being quoted is like super sky high..please advise me if its really too expensive

Below is the spec

For Honda Civic
Front Windscreen C70
Front passenger n drive C50
Rear passenger n driver side C40
Rear Windscreen C40

She quoted me RM3400 with Rm500 discount..RM2900
As i remember reading from this forum..most pple that bought huper optik the cost is less than 2k...

Can any Huper Optik dealer give me a quotation for Honda Civic?

Thanks!

Be warned that your front, and front sides are NOT JPJ approved.

When come time to sell your car, PUSPAKOM will tear the front windscreen and the front sides.

Interesting, when I was planning to install 3M tint crystalline product, the outlet inform they have to cut some hole if for the smart tag to work.
Else have to install those black tint at the top (which is not crystalline) but i dont like the look, prefer 1 full tint for windscreen.
End up using other brand than 3M
*
That’s because 3M has the most heat rejection tint in the market (per VLT). Hence, Smart Tag won’t work.

The dealer i asked in Kepong said if i apply Crytsaline 60 and below, they will not guarantee on JPJ saman or something. Only if you apply Crystaline 70, they will guarantee. Which dealer you went to?
*
JPJ saman they surely will guarantee. But PUSPAKOM when come time to sell your car, sure fail

Not many companies in Malaysia offer top range tint for the front windscreen.

VLT of 70,50, 30 tint for car is 100% PUSPAKOM fail!

the right number for 100% pass is VLT of 90 (front), 70 (front side) and 50 (rear)

Why they say okay to JPJ? Thats because JPJ rarely check, where as PUSPAKOM when transfer owner (during selling), 100% check

why jpj n puspakom have different requirements ?? rclxub.gif
*
They have the same requirements!

Just that, JPJ only check via enforcement, PUSPAKOM is 100% mandatory.

So, If you buy a brand new car, spend RM3000 on top range tint, when come time to sell, you will need to throw away the tint before the new owner gets the car.

Tint resellers in Malaysia wont tell you that PUSPAKOM will almost certain fail you if you put 70%, 50% and 30% tint on your car.

That's because the glass for your car from factory is not 100% clear, around 10-30% tinted. Which means, even if you tint 70% VLT for the front windshield, you are getting around 50% VLT, and PUSPAKOM will fail you, and tear off your tint.

I'm looking at Llumar Diamond 6 and 3M Crystalline.

Which one is better? As I was told, 3M is only slightly cheaper than Llumar but  not sure which is better.
*
3m is the best bang for buck

There are more higher end tints, but 3m is the best "medium" level tint.

Its like Ikea, great quality at that price

What are the 'higher' standard tints and how much do they generally cost?
*
An example would be, Spectra PhotoSync IRD

Excellent clarity and heat rejection. but price is also much higher, 40-80% more depending on car type and window count
