QUOTE(MyWifeCar @ Dec 23 2013, 05:28 PM) You mean tak tahan hot weather in Msia ke? I dunno ler... This is a special edition of CQuartz designed for the colder damper climate, and specially for the UK.I buy and use only, didn't read into the detail that much. CQ UK is easier to apply, thinner, lasts about a year, can apply in much colder weather CQ still easy to apply but apply a little thinner than uk, lasts 2 years, a little thicker, not cold tolerant for application |

Yes in detailing there is not strict rules you MUST do this and that of course skip polish...mean no correction on your surface if there is swirl.... |

QUOTE(kww @ Dec 25 2013, 03:50 PM) Never come across my mind to buy 1 DA, as I don't have budget and I'm not that particular to have a perfect car; stone chips and small dents are all over the car. But I like it clean and good water sheeting & beading effect. I never stop cleaning it every week over the pass 5 years. looking at your 'need' and play of staying (condo right) ? i think you dun need any machinery at all..Once you have tools, pad will be the next crazy thing you going to hunt for (so many branded and type our there from polishing, finishing, cutting, mild, heavy pad)...then product also...different type of polisher with different level of cutting power...Yesterday a friend of mine offer his Meg G220 DA that is hardly use for rm600 (without any pad). I'm tempted, need to ask a few question; 1. is this a good price? It is not local purchase. 2. I was told it is rather fool proof but not that powerful as compare to Roft, true? 3. How many kind of pads should I buy for swirls and water marks removal? As it is the only thing i think i will use it for. How much are the pads (mid quality)? Thanks and merry Christmas. I tell you what, why NOT you want for next DIT session....let's all the sifu bring their gear do it together with you and from there you just continue with maintenance etc...washing, waxing etc. |

QUOTE(haushinka @ Dec 25 2013, 10:00 PM) Absolutely same as my case....staying in the high rise apartment...initially tried to correct the defect using hand...damn hard, tiring n time consuming...even the result unable to meet my expactation..appreciate if sifu here can recommend any tools with acceptable price range (300-400 (machine only)) and good for noobie like me acceptable price range (RM300-400 (machine only)) would be bosch ROB. Easily can get from any big hardware shop. Make sure you get the one come with speed controlReference line from an online store : http://allfix.com.my/webshaper/store/viewP...roductItem=1579 The default velcro backing plate is @ 5" pad size but you can mount pad upto 6.5"....its a light maintenance tools. Lasttime before the existance of DA, most ppl were using ROB for maintenance and light correction ...unless then need cutting power then ppl will go for RB. My RB has gone to deep sleep for long...i only use ROB once in a bluemoon Regularly just week car wash 1-3 times..then top up wax, sealant etc....swirl will come back after sometime (depend how frequent you use the car and how dirty + washing/drying technique).... Can't expect to have swirl free unless in showroom, no dust expose at all... This post has been edited by g88: Dec 25 2013, 11:15 PM |

QUOTE(CoffeeDude @ Dec 27 2013, 01:45 PM) http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-total-swirl-remover.html what was the shipment cost like vs the total USD$ of ur purchase ?http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-finishing-glaze.html http://www.autogeek.net/wg5500.html http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-paint-sealant-review.html It is easy to work with The TSR and FG, I applied it one panel at a time and wiped it off. Easy to wipe off. The DGPS, I applied it to half of the car, waited 40 mins before wiping off. Also easy to wipe off. It didn't dry or became powdery or harden. As the DGPS needs 12 hours to fully cure, I could only do the next half of the car the next day. |

QUOTE(thom_chai @ Dec 28 2013, 10:19 AM) If they are easy to use and can deliver great result, I dun mind paying the premium. The time saving and frustration are worth much more I think Rm300 can get few more product from others premium brand. Anyhow ease of use and durability could be the main cause.... |

Get the product & DIY or DIT. Even inclusive shipment its still cheaper than sending outside.
Yes you MAY get the 'result' for what you paid BUT you never know how much the 'process' e.g how much paint been cut to achieve result. Do you think its 'important' to know ? |

QUOTE(kww @ Jan 11 2014, 12:21 AM) At last I found an APC that can use for this, Duragloss Ultimate Orange 462. Dilute 20:1 and put in spray bottle, spray on the dirty area, then just do the normal wash. I can see it is quite clean after wash. Yes u can use APC both same time it will also remove your protection.Actually the seller told me to do second spray at the roof and hod after wash and dry, then wipe with a dry MF. Haven't try it yet. Anyone use this product before? |
