I am bit confuse with your statement "paint basecoat 2-3 layer -> clear -> wetsand -> compound -> polish?"

Your first image already touched primer = mean paint already gone.

2nd image look still fix-able.

Currently I'm using Meguiars White Wax (carnauba wax). I just waxed my car last Sunday. 2 days later, on Tuesday, it was a very heavy downpour at the place I park my car when I work. Then when I went to collect my car, I noticed that there are a lot of dark water lines washed down my whole car. It seems the wax is not working well in protection at all. Those looks like the wax melted and mixed with dirt from the rain water.

And today I washed my car. It seems to be those dirt are sticking to my paint. @_@ Washed but cannot help much. After washing, I used Meguiars UQD trying to clean up those stains. Took SO MUCH of effort to clear those dirt marks.

I wonder, is the "carnauba wax" can be melted and become even a dirt magnet? Or it is supposed to be melted and washed away, and those dirt marks are due to no more wax protection on my car?
*
1. Did you perform a good surface preparation prior to apply wax ?
2. Carnauba wax 'only' look good - product deep gloss by naturally it doesn't last long moreover we are in acid rain climate.
3. Due to Point 2 alot of ppl have choose to use synthetic wax compare to Carnauba as there last much longer and easy (apply) and easy (buff) off
4. For your case, i believe your protection layer has been washed off my the heavy downpour and left with watermark.
5. In order to move water mark, usually you would clay or polish off after a wash, UQD is to mostly use to remove light dust and finger print only.

With coating, in order to have the 'warranty' from the detailer, you will have to go back to them with special maintainance e.g wash, polish, touch up etc...and these maintenance is not cheap.

I would recommend coating if you know HOW TO DIY and maintain it yourself (need to study the behavior and characteristic of the coating)

Hi, how to maintain shinning our car after doing detailing?

Btw, need to do claying if wash?
*
aside from use the correct product, technique is MOST important. Clay is not necessary unless you found that your surface is contaminated after wash

Hi, normally how long that we need to polish the car? I took my car since 2011 until now no polish yet, cause one of my friend saying that new car below 5years no need to polish is that true. Now i starting to notice my car colour start to become not so bright. Honda city grey colour.
*
NO true. Even a brand new car out from assemble plant will be parked outside under shade, hot sun and acid rain for at least 1-3 months before deliver to your hand. Therefore contamination, swirl is highly possible happen.

Inside of 'polish', i would suggest you do claying, surface preparation first.

hi.. got my new car about 2 month now.. still have not do anything yet except weekly washing at car wash... how should 1 start ??  should i start after washing-->dry--> clay ??? --> wash --> dry --> wax --> dry --> wax --> dry --> wash --> dry ?

Thanks
*
If you need to detail the ride, usually you do this
Wash > Clay > Dry > PaintCleaner/Light Polish* either one > Wax or Sealant

If weekly maintenance,
Wash > Dry
or
Wash > Dry > Wax/Sealant
or
Wash > Dry > Wax Booster

Hi g88,

Thanks for the info biggrin.gif

The reason I put budget RM is becoz when asking for recommendation, it's better have preference / budget so that people can easily give me idea smile.gif
Normally wash car kits include sponge, cloth, brush, car wash shampoo right??

For begineer like me, what you suggest to me??
*
Shampoo, washmitt (if not microfiber), and drying towel.

You can try Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax. Result is impressive.

If you are on tight budget, Osren Bubble and Wax is recommended as well.
*
Where to buy Osren Bubble and Wax ? What size does it come with ? Price vs Ultimate Wash and Wax ?

Based on my experience using the 2 bucket wash, changing the rinse water is important.

I use a big bucket for the rinse water and a small bucket for the car shampoo. I change the rinse water at least once sometimes twice. This means I use 2 to 3 large buckets of rinse water every time I wash my car.
*
Does this mean your car is very dirty tongue.gif

Usually on the doors especially after rain got dirty water drops "attached" to my doors doh.gif

I only wash my car once a week so the dirty water drops have dried.

If there is frequent light rain and the dirt accumulates it gives a sand paper feeling sweat.gif
*
thats why with good protection, all dirt, mud, dust can be easier wash off. Typically you dun need use much pressure to wash - alot ppl tot wipe harder will get the dirt off = in a way YES but same time you also scratching the paint

Some people don't really encourage using pressure washer as they said it might introduce scratches as well...due to the high pressure on the dirt.

I am confused on this sometimes  rclxub.gif
*
Scratch mostly won't but if you shoot too slow + too sharp + your have a high Psi machine...possible going to dent the car panel...

Always 'open' the widest and dun shoot too close....
