Also it solves the wifi keep disconnecting that some of us get. And gives you a black keyboard instead. This one I dun like.

R u using data? Try using wifi or delete your apn and add it back again by rebooting the phone.

So you are using wifi? Did it just happen, maybe can try back later, sometimes Google server also have issues.

Hmm weird. I have no issues updating apps that comes with the phone. I guess You are not rooted. Cannot really think of a reason or workaround. Can you try with another wifi connection, go to some shop or another friends house or something.

What is the important stuff you wanna backup? My advice
Contacts - sync with google
Sms - I use sms backup and restore
Pictures, mp3,files,etc. - manual copy to pc

If you are rooted you can also backup apps + its data using my preferred app titanium backup.

Then you shouldn't restore back your apps. Just restore info like contacts sms and proceed from there to see if there is any more battery drain.

If you are rooted can use app like catlog to monitor your logcat and pin point the exact app.

First easy way, check if your cpu is being kept at high speed or cores kept turned on when device is idle (NOT screen off). If yes turn on show cpu usage in development settings and see Wtf is doing it.

Edit: when idle only 1 core should be on and that core must be able to go down to 300mhz.

Use BBS and check for wake lock. If no suspicious wakelock, check for excessive cpu usage when screen on. If nothing suspicious, then it's normal. Maybe you just not using the phone frequent enough thus android OS exceeds screen on time and your screen on time is low.

No idea. Could be phone could be telco could be some apps etc. You need todo your own testing and eliminate the possibilities.

For the record I do not have this issue ever. So it's not related to the firmware you can rule this out. Also i am on maxis. Using 4g and 3g in alot of klang Valley area.

If your phone is on vibration voice command won't work for calls.
