most complicated thing ever

i cannot do this on my phone?
*
No. When you flash rom you phone cannot be running. Nanti kena corrupted and cannot boot how? Thats why we need to boot into custom recovery and flash normally. So since you got no custom recovery, you need to use your pc to access the phone with the system killed to flash (actually it is just replacing the files) tongue.gif

hi guys! proud owner of Note 3 Black 32gb, and im thinking to root my note 3, i have a question if i update to mj7 via software update can i still root it?
*
Yes you can still root but you will lose warranty due to knox.

QUOTE(mrvkool @ Dec 16 2013, 02:13 PM)
Guys , I think u have came across this question.so many times, and I m sorry for this. My S3 mobo fails, so I am thinking to get myself a bigger and better phone. I have a problem to choose, this should be either note 2 or the new note 3. Do u guys think note 3 with the price different of 500+  do really worth it? It looks bigger, but does it really much larger than the note 2? They seem to have the same footprint. I did watch to review units on the YouTube but I still want to get you guys feedback. Anything should I know before I get on of these?
*
Main difference note 2 and 3 is the screen, bigger internal memory and lte (if the note 2 u looking at dun have lte)

Setup your adb properly first.
QUOTE
Start

1. First Download Android SDK. Roughly about 70 MB

2. There may be any compressed zip file or exe file
If zip file, then extract it to C:\android-sdk
If exe file then double click on it and install it in C:\ Drive(or any other drive you want)

3. Now to get adb and other tools, you need to download 'Platform Tools'
To download them, go to the android-sdk folder and double click on SDK Manager
It will ask you which package to download? However, it is your choice which package to Download, but here, we will only talk about platform
Tools. So, simply tick on Platform Tools and click on install. Once you have done it. Go to the platform-tools folder in the directory where you installed android-sdk. You will find several files there like adb, fastboot, aapt, etc

Have you done all this?

i dunno how to :

How to use:

Extract the download from below to the root of your internal or external sd card.
The script will try to detect the folder first on the external and then on the internal sd.
(/mnt/extSdCard/kn0x0ut or /sdcard/kn0x0ut)

Then browse into that directory with terminal or adb shell and type:
*
Have you install all the android 4.3 packages, usb driver, sdk tools, sdk platform.

i think these are the minimally required ones  flex.gif

Plug your phone to pc. Ensure usb debugging is on.

And open the CMD in platform-tools folder. (Press shift + left click mouse and select open command window here)
type
CODE
adb devices
see it detect your phone or not.

Remember allow su for adb on your phone when prompted.

Edit. BTW you are using 4.3 not 4.4 so you may need to install platform for 4.3

type
CODE
adb shell

type
CODE
su
(remember allow su on phone)
type
CODE
stop
(you will see your phone stop responding, basically it killed your system)
type
CODE

Your phone reboots and come to life

If I read correctly from the knoxout thread, it doesn't require adb shell wor or did I read it wrong  hmm.gif

after you downloaded the zip file in post 5, you try to put it in the root of your SD card.

Then open terminal and type the bottom line and press enter

/mnt/extSdCard/kn0x0ut

It can be used over adb or terminal, but if you install a rom the system ui gets stopped, so better do it over adb!

If you flash a rom you are replacing system files if the system files suddenly get replaced it will hang and reboot. But the file not yet fully replace, you get a soft brick and can only be cured with odin flash.

Frankly it is not a good way for me to flash rom, you may miss some stuff that is not copied over giving you a problematic device later.

Bro, did you try with the backup script? More importantly, do you have any tar file for odin just in case anything went wrong
*
The backup script is practically useless now as the author is unsure on the proper way to restore. tongue.gif
