try open up your power brick, probably the fan inside got stuck or maybe to much dust clogging the vent hence the noice.

Obviously your adapter is a third party adapter not the original xbox one adapter....third party adapter usually make such buzzing sounds and u dont need a transformer for them. Am guessing your supplier switched the original adapter so you can connect directly without a transformer.

can use WD40 to lubricate the fan.. hehe..

Yes salesman said have to use this adapter instead otherwise it will burn. So mine is a uk set without a transformer? Or US set with modified brick (transformer inside)?

Its not a UK set.. Its a US set but the seller switched the adapter to a rm70 third party adapter. Its not a mod adapter i have one with me dat i dont use cos its very noisy. I think its better you tell the seller to get you the original adapter so you can use it with a transformer.

i have china imitation power supply from taobao...its working fine, no buzzing sound but its very hot compared to original xbox one power supply.

There is quite a few 3rd party one the one they sell in play Asia is the worst it runs hot and noisy but it's cheapest, from taobao u can actually buy ori used one for about 150 ringgit not including shipping.

I think he should still have the original one, if u r paying xtra and seller didn't give u ori one then it's pretty dodgy he's earning more money than he should.... Swap it back at least I can mod it to use in Malaysia rather than u using some crap 3rd party one or u can spend more money ordering from taobao.

btw, yesterday when to Gamers Solution Shop, both bernard and Crystal said, nowday seller selling US Xbox One version with modify original power brick. so beware la.

Think u meant 3rd party power brick..... That's y ppl modify the ori instead since the ori brick can do 240v just Microsoft somehow feel the need to lock it down to one instead of like 99% of consumer electronic nowadays which do dual voltage...... Even my cheap 15 ringgit china soldering iron does 100-240v.......

well my transformer is quiet , but some ppl claim that they have buzzing sound. just snap a pic of the adapter label so we can tell if its 3rd party adapter or not
