becuz i prefer sharper edges on the screen rather than curved ones.

if its there then its ok..

however, im using version 9.6..
maybe now its changed but i have no issues with 9.6, so i just keep using the same one.

is it pre-rooted? or just stock FTF.

not sure.. cuz [NUT] and doomlord manage to root the leaked 4.3, but somehow till now still no official method to root yet..

official method means ownself root by the user..

those custom rom they root for you liao.. so you just install their creation..

like .67 is to flash a .423 kernel, then root with doomlord's kit v18, then flash back .67 kernel

right now .569 haven come out yet

best is to manually backup anyway..

- your sms you can backup with SMS Backup & Restore
- whatsapp you can manually backup then transfer the whole folder to your PC or external SD card
- pics/videos/medias = manually transfer to your PC
- apps = manually create backup of the configuration (like widgets, app settings, etc)
- for game files you can try titanium backup

thats the safest way to backup cuz at least you can see it with your own eyes, rather than it being a converted file format that contains the backup.

becuz it will wipe the system

just make a backup.

for apps you can always reconfigure.. most importantly is your personal data anyway

full wipe means wiping of

- system
- data
- cache
- dalvik cache
- internal sdcard

but just to be safe, unmount your ext sd card..
