I just open the casing n check the fan, surprisingly it's still clean! But I don't know how to check n clean the vent, and as for TC it requires total disassemble the laptop right? Stil not confident to do it yet  hmm.gif  how much does TC cost usually? And any recommend? Totally newb to these man. It gets to 95'c after 30 mins of divinity original sin, the setting is maximum low.

Could it be the software then? When I first bought this laptop I did transfer alienresoawn in a pen drive just in case. Should I respawn it? unsure.gif

I know that the gpu is soldered to the motherboard but I read in some forum someone could change the gpu by doing something to it, is it true? Would totally change this gt555 to something else man  nod.gif

i just realized it needs some work to get to that cooling parts for m14.

for thermal compounds, normal pastes that you can find in common shops are good enough. arctic cooling mx-4, certain cooler master variants are common (much easier to spread and apply). there are others (more expensive) like arctic silver 5, ic diamond 7/24 carat, prolimatech pk-1/2/3, coollaboratory liquid ultra. most of them have more unique ways to apply.

common pastes usually are just about MYR 20 to 30 per tube (with one tube you can apply like a number of times for laptop cpu and gpu).

previously raymondtong94 did mention he can help for maintenance service. i'm not sure if it's still valid.

for cosmetic restores, i think the best person to talk to is putochip123.

how much was the shipping to malaysia? and how long it took to reach?
*
er.. i bought them with other stuff so i'm not sure. however it's light, so it should be cheap. (shipping fee from china to malaysia is relatively much cheaper). usually it takes just a week to reach here.

i have replaced the thermal paste with coollaboratory liquid ultra. it's no wonder many elite members like it so much. it really can suppress the hot temperatures of cpu/gpu under load very well. the down side of this paste are its conductivity and corrosive nature to aluminum. be careful if you wanna use it. also, the way to apply is not the same as normal thermal pastes, and you only need very little amount for cpu die. however it's actually very easy to do.

usually when i play games for long hours at room temperature, my cpu temperature will reach over 90c. now it never get past 85c. (my aw has a damn hot cpu)

oh smile.gif

in terms of internals, originpc's case is more flextible and more fun to play with.

it's always about different personal preferences. some like it, while others don't smile.gif

this is why for everything we also have so many brands and choices to choose from hahaha!

Ahhh, then it makes sense. I thought they didn't bring in area 51s at all.
*
yeah it's been kept quiet for some years.

QUOTE(rihuhs @ Sep 3 2014, 09:51 PM)
Area-51 has always been their flagship model and the highest end, even back in the days they brought in top-of-the line stuffs like 1000W PSU (sounds like a very big deal somewhere in 2005-2006), full liquid cooling system for the ALX series and even featured Intel Xeon CPUs and quad SLi setups.
*
i think it's time for area-51 to make a comeback because of recent fierce competitions from brands like originpc, maingear, etc.

.. and we'll see if the new one can stay competitive in terms of specs.

In the past during E3, most catchy booth will be Alienware and Voodoo before each of them are acquired by Dell and HP individually. Some of the Alienware staff resigned and started OriginPC(sounds familiar? brows.gif)

Voodoo M355 one of the claimed to be gaming laptop and that time Alienware was showing off ATi Radeon X800 in CrossFire.
*
yeah that's how originpc was born smile.gif

True, that's what I did with the last machine I had. But I'm thinking my next machine I'm going to build myself. Save a lot of money instead of spending on an AW desktop.
*
maybe it's the other way round biggrin.gif that specs are just too much lol!

there is no such updates for w8.1.

try to connect the ext.hdd to a usb 2.0 hub then connect that hub to the port of r4. this is the trick i used if a usb 3.0 ext.storage is not detected.
