QUOTE(midnight2903 @ Nov 23 2013, 11:41 PM) anyone know how to disassemble cmstorm QFR? You mean spacebar? You can do it eitherway: 1. Forcefully push the space to a side and then lift up the other end out of the steel wire. 2. Remove the stabiliser inserts and take it out (if you had no idead how to reinsert the insert, better don't use this way).

QUOTE(belfong @ Nov 23 2013, 11:43 PM) With the ONI! it should be using cherry stabilizer... So as long as the width of the stem is standard, I don't have to worry, right? I think you need to make sure that the spacebar stabiliser stem spacing (LOL, 4S) are 10cm sharp (or at least, 9.9xxcm) then won't have compatibility issue.

QUOTE(midnight2903 @ Nov 23 2013, 11:48 PM) Need to access from the back, unscrew (if any) and start prying the edge to get the top case off. This is the norm for disassemble most keyboard.

From the inputs so far, we can deduce that a standard 6.25x spacebar stabiliser stem spacing is 10cm sharp (or may be with variance of a little less than that).
Now, need some inputs for the spacebar (keycap) stem spacing, particularly the stock one (cause I myself actually had many kbc/vortex spacebar already, most measured to be 9.9cm exactly with the exception of the white DS pbt from vortex/ikbc, 10cm sharp).

QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Nov 24 2013, 02:27 AM) Bang, Morphling Plum 87 only red LED right? Yup. It is your choice to choose backlit one with red led with backlit keycaps or non backlit one with POM keycaps and DIY it. Note that their profile is Cherry profile. QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Nov 24 2013, 02:29 AM) If want other color, need to desolder the old one, and replace right? What color is the metal plate? Black? If you don't like red led, might as well get non-backlit and DIY (may need to change the resistor though). These are the few shops remaining which still got stock, have a look yourself. http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r...ed55e27b&pm_id=http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r...ed55e27b&pm_id=

Sell your QFR and add another RM100 something then ok liao. Then you will be the first guy here to have a red plate, red case, red wire, red switch and red keycaps keyboard. QUOTE(midnight2903 @ Nov 24 2013, 02:38 AM) i just get the keycool now then wait until my money come in but the red color on that board looks kinda orange.... alternatively, i paint my own case and get a red wire done Different lighting effect, I believe the real one should look more like this. After you get red cable, you still don't have red plate.

QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Nov 24 2013, 02:41 AM) IINM, red, blue, white, purple and ice blue shouldn't have issue. Hmmm... Got any photo of your light turned on? I wonder how bright is it since I'm sure the backplate is black color. So, it's the same exact plum just with and without LED? Afraid happened like Oni special case, unable to turn on etc. Plum not as extreme as Vortex I guess (but their decision to make the PLUM96 wired version completely different from wireless version somehow shocked me)... The 6th point, had the circuit for LED mounting. Regarding the LED part, I think the rated LED should be 2V, not sure what will happen if installing 3V (white/blue/green) LED on without modifying the resistors. QUOTE(midnight2903 @ Nov 24 2013, 02:55 AM) are leds usually mounted at top of switch or bottom? Most backlit or backlit intended board have reverse mounted switches, to allow LED to be mounted at top as the legends are normally located on the top. The only exception to that are those korean customs and also greedwolf blade.

QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Nov 24 2013, 03:21 AM) But the non LED is wired or not? And the wired version is? So far, I understand that there is four version. - LED wireless - LED wired - Non LED wireless - Non LED wired Gosh, it's nearly 3.30am, no wonder my processor a little slow. Forgive me for any lagging or delaying understand what you post. PLUM87 all got wireless one. Only 2 version, backlit (by default) or non backlit.

But as always, RM250 budget, better: 1. Add another bit and go for rosewill rk9000 2. Get keycool87 pbt from taobao This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 24 2013, 03:33 AM
