QUOTE(Tienhoven @ Jan 16 2014, 12:21 PM)
Hey guys, need some help with building a new rig.

This is my initial idea, need some expert views and recommendation as where needed to be tweaked. I don't know if the price I saw are the current price so please insert it for me thanks.

I intend to OC nextime. Budget not over 2.5k - 3k. Main use Gaming, Movies and normal daily browsing.

CPU - i5 - 4670k

GPU - HD5870 ( Unused Store Room Item. I intend to upgrade later on end of the year, for now use this first to play some games like Bioshock Infinite, Batman : Arkham Origins, and some other similiar type of games. )

MOBO - MSI B75A-G45 / MSI Z77A-G43 ( I need help here, not sure what mobo will suit my build. Will the GPU block SATA ports? Is there a better mobo you guys think I should get? )

RAM - 4GB x 2 Corsair Vengeance ( Anything more worth it? )

HDD - WD Blue 1TB

SSD - 120GB ( Need help. If over budget can exclude this )

PSU - Seasonic S12II 620W

Casing - No idea. Something that is not over RM 150 and good airflow.

Cooler - CM Hyper 212 EVO ( Opinion about if this will collide with RAM or something. )

Don't need Optical Drive I guess.

So how much would this cost? If anyone has better ideas please share it. If I left something out please tell me. Thanks for reading.
*
CPU:Intel Core i5 4670K RM759
MOBO:Asrock Z87 Extreme3 RM449
GPU:(reuse)
RAM:Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RM239
HDD:WD Caviar Blue 1TB RM189
SSD:Plextor M5S 128GB RM319
PSU:Seasonic S12II 80+ B 620W RM299
Casing:CM K380 RM149
Cooler:CM Hyper Evo 212 RM110-149 (cycom)
Total:RM2552
Prices from Viewnet, but Cooler is from Cycom.

You can sell HD5870 for around 200-300 and can get Leadtek GTX760 2GB GDDR5 RM849 if u want... icon_idea.gif
I'd recommend you to sell that for around 250 because it's kinda a power hungry GPU...while GTX760 is powerful than HD5870 and lesser power consumption.

There might be slight bottlenecking from the cpu..he may need to give it a slight overclock.. tongue.gif

Thanks for the rig suggest,
so...
how long agak agak can this rig tahan~ hmm.gif
*
Nowadays new CPUs,GPUs, etc get released every 1-2 years iinm, but since the rig i recommended is one of the best at that price range,im sure it'll be able to handle high quality games for 2-3 more years..but it depends though.. brows.gif
Like if you don't clean your rig at all then the perfomance will suffer by a bit..thanks to dust. tongue.gif

Thanks alot bro. Very helpful.  notworthy.gif

If ASUS MOBO, which model would you prefer and why?
*
Asus? hmm.gif
Around that price range,i wouldn't recommend Asus MOBOs since the one that is like hardcore good brows.gif is normally like Asus Z87 Sabertooth,Asus Z87 Gryphon,Asus Maximus IV series...i'd recommend you to go with the Asrock MOBO that i recommended though..a decent one for a decent price... tongue.gif

Nvidia fanboy here.  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif  prefer to cap ram at 8gb and place more budget on the gpu.

At that budget,a AMD is better, like what @Human10 said, even the Drivers is way better than before...if it's like a 4K-4.2K budget, then u are able to get GTX780Ti..anyway,try this!

CPU:Intel Core i5 4570 3.2 Ghz RM619
MOBO:Asrock B85M Pro4 RM279
GPU:Sapphore R9 290 Tri-X OC 4Gb GDDR5 RM1699 (IdealTech)

Would you sacrifice perfomance just to go NVidia? No right...If i were you,i'd go for the GPU i recommended.. smile.gif

And is that better than HD7790 or r7 260x???
*
Gigabyte GTX650TiBoost OC 2GB GDDR5 RM599,get that instead.. icon_idea.gif
Those 2 cards are weaker than GTX650Ti Boost...
R7 260X is technically a HD7790 but OCed.

Hmm both would be slightly over my budget..
is there a slightly lower range? which have good cooler system too
*
hmm.gif Other good quality 600-620W PSUs is 200-350...
Anyway, you can sell the HD5770 for around 150-250...if you manage to sell it for 250,spend it on Corsair Carbide 200r.. icon_idea.gif
You're only upgrading the GPU,PSU and Casing only, right?

Suggestion for CPU, going to pair it with GTX 760.

FX 6300 / Any upcoming FM2+ Kaveri CPU / Haswell i3

All should priced around 450 to 500. So, which one should I go for?
*
I'd go for intel core i3 4330 3.5 Ghz RM459..make sure you have the mobo for it,if not,then i'd recommend you Asrock B85M Pro4 RM279... biggrin.gif
You can also save a bit more money and get i5 4440 3.1 Ghz RM579.. brows.gif
Prices from Viewnet btw. smile.gif

QUOTE(Blackdawn @ Jan 22 2014, 03:09 PM)
need recommendation for chassis.

Budget around 200(max 250 if the perks are really really really good).

priority with good cooling system that will not overheat my system, and secondary noise cancellation, size doesn't matter.

I don't need a huge chassis, i only need a chassis that can fit 1-2 SDD, seasonic S12II 620W PSU, Sapphire Toxic R9 280x (my monster) with the length of 308mm, and the rest which are pretty standard.

Please don't find me any chassis with hdd-removable-via-removing-rivets because its a hassle because i don't have any tools that can remove it easily.

p.s. is it hard to shift the MOBO from 1 chassis to another?i'm a total noob here..
*
Corsair Carbide 200r RM229 is a good choice. smile.gif
Price from viewnet.

Also,if you wanna move your MOBO out to another casing,i think it's simple. You only need to screw it and then move it out of it's position carefully..incase you accidentally damaged a part of the MOBO... tongue.gif
And when you are gonna put it in the new casing, put it back in to it's position, and screw it back iinm. smile.gif
