Hi, planning to get MR3420 v2.4 and pair with huawei e3276.

Read that huawei is power hungry and MR3420 may not have sufficient power to ensure smooth connection.

What is the most cost effective solution? USB hub or more powerful power adapter for MR3420? If it's either solutions can share which hub or adapter to buy, and where?

Thanks.

Edit: Alternatively, any good & cheap options to recommend if need wireless router with 4g connection? Need to connect to pc and few mobile devices.

Hello masters and sifu
I am using tplink mr3420 and huawei e3372 LTE dongle

Want to ask, can I force my line into 4g only?
E3372 is just plug and play so i cant get a software for pc terminal like my previous zte dongle which has a software that enable you to force the line into 4g only.

Tq.

I'm using rooter Huntsman 2014-01-25red with my aircard 320u modem. I can't get my celcom connected. The network LED is blinking (blinking yellow in 4G or blinking blue in 3G). cry.gif The modem can connect if I plug it directly to my PC.

Below is the settings:

APN : celcom3g (also tried celcom.net.my)
User Name : (blank)
Password : (blank)
PIN : (blank)
Authentication Protocol : PAP (also tried none and pap)
Force Modem to PPP Protocol : No
USB Power : On
Connection Delay in Seconds : 5

Is the setting above correct? icon_question.gif

EDIT:

Finally manage to make it work with a weird trick.

1. Plug 320u into router. Set Current Cellular Mode as "3G preferred".

2. Plug the 320u directly to PC. Use Aircard Watcher to set "WCDMA all".

3. Plug 320u into router. It connects to internet with 3G (steady blue). Set Current Cellular Mode as "4G preferred". It will switch to 4G mode (steady green). Yay! 4G Internet works fine but without stats for MCC MNC & Maximum Qos (shows --).

I'm now using APN "celcom.net.my" with Authentication protocol "None". I guess it doesn't matter.

EDIT2: After router restart, I have to do all of the above again doh.gif

Anyone know what's the data port and comm port for sierra 320u?

My PC is connected via LAN cable to LAN#1 of MR3420. Windows LAN status shows disconnected (X), but the router shows connected (the LAN#1 light is illuminated). After disconnecting the cable, the LAN#1 light on the router remains lit. I plug it into LAN#2, the PC still shows disconnected, but LAN#2 on the router is lit (LAN#1 remains lit). After disconnecting the cable, the LAN#2 light on the router remains lit. That means LAN#1 & LAN#2 are both lit with cable disconnected. I can repeat the defect with LAN#3 & LAN#4.

Is this a sign of router failure? Restarting the router doesn't fix it.

It's not the cable.
Now, LAN#2 is running fine. LAN#3 & #4 are buggy. rclxub.gif

I have an existing DiGi Huawei E5577s Mobifi. Is it possible to just pair this Mifi device with this router using WDS or USB tethering?

The reason is the wifi range for E5577s is not enough for my home usage.

Please advise. Thanks.

Yes it does. Make sure you update to latest version firmware if tplink. Yes it does come with QoS.

This custom rom also have the stock firmware bandwidth control ? I mainly want to limit the downstream of certain ip address to 1mbps. Was thinking to pair it with Huawei E3372 but wasn't sure if it's compatible or not with stock firmware or the rooter firmware that you've suggested.
