I went to TPLink service center in LYP (top floor) to RMA my faulty MR3420 power supply. Too bad...warranty for the power brick is only 3 months, 2 years for the router. Bought a new power brick from them at RM10.

Then...went to Sricomp, saw the same power brick but with OEM wording instead of TPLink brand...RM15. Glad that I bought from TPLink service center.

Dear networking sifus, need your help.

My main internet is from Huawei E5331 mifi. I have some devices which only have LAN ports. I have a spare TPLink MR3420. Hence I need to do bridging.

E5331 > (Wifi) > MR3420 (LAN cable) > Any devices such as pc/laptop

Can i use this method?
http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=74

Please correct me if I'm wrong (based on the link above):
[Part 1] E5331 IP remained at 192.168.1.1 while MR3420 will be 192.168.1.2
[Part 2] On MR3420, enable bridge and enter MAC address of E5331 per tutorial. The tutorial said repeat the steps on another router (E5331). I need to enable bridge on the E5331 too? I haven't check the E5331 setting page yet, and I doubt there's such setting.

Skylinestar I never try this. Maybe you can try it.

MR3420 use WDS bridging which is easier to setup.

But I pretty sure you can do it on OpenWRT.

I think I'll try this:

Tried to bridge my MR3420 (extended router) to the main TM Riger modem router (main router)...failed.

The WDS status on my tplink says Run...but I can't connect to the internet.

Can anyone help?

Don't use WPS, manually wire them together wink.gif

My main purpose is to extend the lan/wifi coverage.
My riger is on the 1st floor. I have a spare tplink, which I wanna put on the ground floor living room as extender/repeater. Therefore, I need to use wifi instead of hard-wired.

Still no luck. cry.gif

Buy a powerline to link the 2 together.

You can always flash to OpenWRT and configure it as a repeater. Google for steps biggrin.gif

actually uc an flash rooter http://www.ofmodemsandmen.com/index.html

easier for you to bridgeto your riger

rooter is base on openwrt ,..

so for stability, openwrt the basic is best choices

I've flash it to huntsman. Then follow the guide Routed Client or Internet Only Mode:
http://www.ofmodemsandmen.com/wdsmode.html#routed
Still cannot online cry.gif (i'm using wired connection)

What did I do wrong? icon_question.gif I followed step by step.

I followed the guide here:
http://www.ediy.com.my/index.php/blog/item...using-tl-mr3020
It's similar except the client router ip is different. Now it works. rclxm9.gif

Main router (Riger) ip 192.168.1.1
Client router (tplink) ip 192.168.0.1

I'm using rooter Huntsman 2014-01-25red with my aircard 320u modem. I can't get my celcom connected. The network LED is blinking (blinking yellow in 4G or blinking blue in 3G). cry.gif The modem can connect if I plug it directly to my PC.

Below is the settings:

APN : celcom3g (also tried celcom.net.my)
User Name : (blank)
Password : (blank)
PIN : (blank)
Authentication Protocol : PAP (also tried none and pap)
Force Modem to PPP Protocol : No
USB Power : On
Connection Delay in Seconds : 5

Is the setting above correct? icon_question.gif

EDIT:

Finally manage to make it work with a weird trick.

1. Plug 320u into router. Set Current Cellular Mode as "3G preferred".

2. Plug the 320u directly to PC. Use Aircard Watcher to set "WCDMA all".

3. Plug 320u into router. It connects to internet with 3G (steady blue). Set Current Cellular Mode as "4G preferred". It will switch to 4G mode (steady green). Yay! 4G Internet works fine but without stats for MCC MNC & Maximum Qos (shows --).

I'm now using APN "celcom.net.my" with Authentication protocol "None". I guess it doesn't matter.

EDIT2: After router restart, I have to do all of the above again doh.gif

Anyone know what's the data port and comm port for sierra 320u?

My PC is connected via LAN cable to LAN#1 of MR3420. Windows LAN status shows disconnected (X), but the router shows connected (the LAN#1 light is illuminated). After disconnecting the cable, the LAN#1 light on the router remains lit. I plug it into LAN#2, the PC still shows disconnected, but LAN#2 on the router is lit (LAN#1 remains lit). After disconnecting the cable, the LAN#2 light on the router remains lit. That means LAN#1 & LAN#2 are both lit with cable disconnected. I can repeat the defect with LAN#3 & LAN#4.

Is this a sign of router failure? Restarting the router doesn't fix it.

did you try with another lan cable ?

It's not the cable.
Now, LAN#2 is running fine. LAN#3 & #4 are buggy. rclxub.gif
