just flash stock 4.3 ftf files, wipe everything except data.
check the MD5 hash if the OP provided any.
I just rooted my JB 4.3 nod.gif

I have .257 rooted (previously from .534) then I flashed .290 (JB4.3) without wiping data. then I have a non-working SuperSU left in the system, did not remove it.

now I flashed DoomKernel by DoomLord, booted into TWRP (not sure why CWM not working again) then flash SuperSU.zip from SuperSU's website.

done :B

Great! But I'm not so familiar with this root method. Care to explain the steps you take to root?

And you mentioned both cwm and twrp also not working?

I will teach further in detailed when I get the TWRP/CWM working properly (at all times). Now I have CWM/TWRP but they're not booting into it hmm.gif

but if you want to know how I did mine, I have rooted .257, flashed to .290 (4.3) ;

unlock bootloader, flashed DoomKernel, boot into TWRP install SuperSU.zip.

so what are the best reading to show that we are close to the tower. will be nice if we can know the general guidelines.
*
I cant give you the exact figure but the closer you are, the higher number will be shown...

Normally RSCP a number between -50 dBm (higher) and -120 dBm (lower)... so if you get higher you're nearest to tower.

For example my maxis now is 83% or -77dBm.

You can install this apps for better reading
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...ase3.opensignal

nope i dont think so.. bootloader is at the kernel level, it doesnt get affected by ROM inm..
its like the BIOS of a pc.. correct me if im wrong..

and once bootloader is unlocked thru the proper way, Sony side should hv ur unlock record already, and that basically voided the warranty..

Which will mean you need to flash original kernel back, and by entirely wiping data/TA/etc when flashing firmware.

Yeahp. Understood tongue.gif

but so far, I don't think I'll need to send to factory for any repairs. Fine so far, been flashing my Jlo like no one's business laugh.gif still okay.

Anyways, if you all do not want to unlock bootloader, try to install XZ Dual Recovery which is meant for locked BL.

So it'll be

1) Rooted .257
2) Download C6903 14.2.A.0.290 Generic MY 1276-7939_R1B from here (taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191 )

3) Install CWM/TWRP/XZ Dual Recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572988
4) Flash SuperSU 1.86 from http://download.chainfire.eu/372/SuperSU/U...perSU-v1.86.zip

Done! You can also use this thread's rooting method, which is new but I did not try.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573921

I am not responsible if you softbricked your device as this is not the method I used (mine is unlocked BL).

Oh, if you guys are going to use DooMLoRD's Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448613) , as I mentioned earlier, to boot into CWM/TWRP is to keep tapping/pressing VOLUME UP (CWM) or VOLUME DOWN (TWRP).

I'm waiting for this V3 custom ROM only smile.gif made by our local, but not sure who hmm.gif

We should put one post in first page for rooting, or maybe not - does it infringe the forum rules? hmm.gif

its quite a major update, its not surprise that some apps hang or watever..
that's why ppl recommend factory reset but its quite a pain in ass if u're not rooted in data wise.. lol

At this point I don't dare to unlock bootloader. Inexperienced and the only phone. Maybe if I am getting another phone next year i will try with the popular custom ROMs. Now voiding the warranty is pretty scary.

Currently no longer using the original phone dock as my wallet casing couldn't fit into it.

In a way it's good cause charging through the micro USB is way faster, and I'm not used to the landscape mode of my phone when being docked doh.gif

As for the wear and tear of the phone flaps, unless you have gorilla fingers, it'll be fine.

Feel like selling off my dock as it is so high in demand sweat.gif doh.gif
