This is the second time I opening this thread, did a search and somehow the old thread has gone with the wind.
Let me get straight to the point, my school has asked me to find a good Cybercafe software and I don't know which one best for which. I'm using CafeSuite http://cafesuite.net . Good program with moderate support. I think there's less than 5 people working on the program and providing support. I also heard that Smartlaunch is not bad also http://www.smartlaunch.net

If u really wan a software acc sys for ur cc that is free first of all you should consider the bugs and unstabilities of it as workers of yours and not forgetting customers will exploit it...

If you plan to go short term you can buy Cafesuite for 1 year for 100 American Dollars. It includes all the modules and unlimited workstations. If I remember correctly there's also a 3 month and 6 month payment scheme.

MOL! beta its free but many problem came out.... Everyone will get free ply games...hahaha wanna know how? If wanna use MOL, pls go buy the MOL software at MOL website then maybe the problem are not so much. Hmm i think last time i have post once about this topic already... |

aiya... MOL software cacat wan...last time when at cc, i press reset button then after restart b4 the MOL load u can start games, or u can ctrl+alt+del to end task it oso can then reload the taskbar oni...

some of those CC software doesn't works well......
let's say u r in the middle of smtg, eg surfing using IE, then the admin "lock" the PC......jz press Alt + Tab and I'm free to continue surfing........ i think it's MOL de |

Recently I saw a few cybercafes using client server based game server.
They dont load full game on client pc, they have a server store game files and client is actually running game off the server. And the server will automatically update/patch the game (online game) when there is a new version. I heard it costs $20-30 per client... Anyone knows who is selling this solution ? |

haha i bought it for RM 2000 including set up for me.... it depends on how many pc u have... its not a freeware lah
its a programmer from china... he sold to the guy and he bring to malaysia resell to cc owner... so dun hav a company or web site but its a powerful tools |

there is a crack lah, I use it for testing before I purchase the original software. Go search google if you can't find it. Didn't you didnt looked into compressed file? The file prefix has the cracker group name in there.

Can you all post the speed test result here for reference? You can download |HD TACH| and run it at the client and point to your icake partition. run it for 32mb test. You can easily see if it's faster than loading form hdd or not using this test. If the hd tach result is low, then no way it can load games faster ... Attached thumbnail(s)

i using 2 server, it run together for load balancing and backup purpose.
the server cost ~rm3200 only, no need high end server. michaelsoft recommend 2 server incase one server down. |

nop i dont have any problem using this Cybera program. all running smooth and all my client is detected. the best is you can boot any client from ur server and save ur time

hello, im newbie here...and im planning open a cc too..

is really get many choice in this thread.. regarding the diskless system is that will lag...if more then 10pc load a same game or get update an online game one shot....
i juz find up some cc system this afternoon. i-pad system + ecafepro. it look pretty good. first the i-pad system is free. intel chipset motherboard provide this only. if your plan to have 30 unit pc in your cc your buy 31 pc and 1 unit server for ecafepro cc system.... 30 pc for client pc 1 for the main unit in updating and save some image file for your client pc. the i-pad system can update all game patch file to other client pc one you have create a image file in the main unit pc. it hard to explain in my poor english. if someone want to know more try logon to intel webpage.. |

Richtech is using windows 2003 server - charge RM2500 per server . If using two server then need RM2500 x 2 units server = RM5000, DDS is using LINUX therefore is REAL FOC!
DDS licensing fee is depend on quantity of PCs... <40PCs is Rm199/pc 40 - 80 PCs is RM188/pc 80 - 100PCs is RM175/pc and etc... more than 200 PCs is RM120/pc DDS use as easy as ABC, haha...our cafe used for 1 year ++ already also not call DDS support for one time....too stable already...cannot believe! Last time our cc also test on DOE/DOL and also crack version richtech. DOE/DOL too bad - DOS Interface in server RICHTECH performance no good...DDS boot 20PCs within 1min, load game also faster than richtech...... RICHTECH boot 20pcs need 3-5 min and load game also slower than DDS. Now DDS got new game menu and can save game and load game and lock screen and + 500-600 Preinstalled Games......so nice....haha...i already contact them ask them to give us the latest master hdd...haha...FOC also......... |

im just wondering... lets say i open a cyber cafe... im thinking to use smartlaunch as my cyber cafe management controler... (open pc, transfer pc, lock pc, unlock pc, etc etc) then michealsoft DDS as for my client pc to connect to my server and load the game etc etc.... so my question here.... so far after i read all replies in this topic... im interested with smartlaunch and ecafepro... between this 2, i choosen smartlaunch. but since i nvr use either 1 of them... so is there any experienced user can enlight me about this 2 software? which 1 better?? can smartlaunch set different price for different pc? lets say maybe pc01-pc50 i wan set X price. then pc51-pc60 i set Y price. can i do that with smart launch? as for michealsoft DDS... if i use this software in server. as said u just need install in ur server and all client run from ur server. right??? so how do i buy the license thingy? lets say i install warcraft. i just install once into the server. but the CD key? all the same in all client pc? so i just got to pay 1 license for all pc in my cyber cafe??? but since it is just 1 CD key... means just 1 of my customer can enter official battlenet of warcraft in my cyber cafe per time? or how do i settle this? nvr use before... hope to get some helps here.... thanks in advance... |

why no one say about cafe suite?? is free right? i'm now using it and didn't face any bug so far. the games server is that so efficient for cycber cafe use? if the server down then how? and for EA games is need to using different registration key then only can be play in lan mode. so if using one game server would it can be done this all?

If one of the server goes down (hardware problem), the other will back it up. so in conclusion = 0 downtime. as for the ea games LAN play cdkey issue, we also have solutions for it and calling the servers "game server" isnt tat appropriate. if u are really interested, pls give a call to Michaelsoft DDS SDN BHD to clear all ur doubts and questions. Yes, DDS or richtech both are diskless programs for cafe used. The perfomance and reliabilities is based on the configuration of ur server. matter of how much $$$ u dumb in and the how u configure ur network. some running manage switch and some unmanage.
to be frank, the resolution of ur screen directly affect the volumn of date been transfered from server to ur client, what i mean here is not the desktop resolution by gaming resolutions. 1680x 1050 COD4 need almost double of size if compare to 1024x1050. so different spec need different server. the attachment is what i have been tested for a newly cafe. u can see that 3x500GB RAID0 with buffer on can highly transfer more than 200MB per seconds. so the bottle neck is on ur network adapter. maybe some of u will say i have 2 network adapter in my server configuration with different IP. eg: 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.101 ok, do u noticed that this configuration is seperated the client pc into 2 channel. which mean 1 to 30 pc refer to adapter no1: 192.168.1.100 and pc 31 to 60 to adapter no2: 192.168.1.101. what if all ur customer is sitting only from pc no1 to pc30? this means ur adapter 2 is on idle (sleeping mode) all the data is transfer throught adapter no1: 192.168.1.100 everyone knows that 1000based /1Gbps is 1000 mega bit per sec but not mega byte: 1byte = 8 bit so ur 1000based is around 116Megabyte per second. u can cleary see that even ur HDD can transfer 200MB per second but u running on adapter no1: 192.168.1.100 which caused the bottleneck 116MB limit. so i advice running network teaming as a solution. with Network teaming (NLB) u can easily combine 2 network adapter or 3 above to become a single channel. which means u have only 1 IP on ur server with 2/3 network card. when the bandwidth is more than 100mb and the program will automatically using the 2nd adapter to transfer date for the following transfer, and if ur server is really powerful HDD trasnfer rate is more than 350MB .. so the program will use all the 3 card to transfer ur data. aiyo, if cant afford a cyber cafe management software,just use traditional way of jotting down in logbook or microsoft excel la...
i can easily bypass some CCM software at some CC...haha, yup, use without pay but useless lar for me, coz not going to CC anymore these day.... MICHEALSOFT DDS is a crap!!! I already bought the system a year ++....but until today, the Dota Battlelan still cannot be play because of the license key. Starcraft also need to download the crack and other online games also needed to be cracked or patched by ourself. For all that to be done, we have wasted few weeks for download, reinstallation, and testing. One more thing before you apply DDS, please bear in mind that you have to call DDS and you settle the problem YOURSELF. If they come down, they will charge RM1000 per trip!!!
So, how can you say it is good system?? Once the server down, you can close business until the server is up. I know a lot customers using DDS and they are also complaining and planning to change to other system. Think twice before you decides!! Nice system, but only them can troubleshoot!! for me.. no one system is a crap.. just a matter does it suit ur taste. simple.
for additional info, i have tested the velociraptor VR150. it's kinda expensive.. around Rm990 300GB. but the read write speed is ultimate and the random access is cool.. of coz .. dont compare it with SSD. different technology and pirce as well. for the cyber below 60 PC and running diskless server. u could use the vr150 as the write sector.. whereby.. u estimated around 3GB per pc for the temperory storage.. so VR150 is just enough. if anyone need the print screen of the test.. Pm me.. i'll post here. 2ndly, there is a 24 ports manageable gigaswitch by 3com which is around RM1350 but i heard the chipset is different from the same switches which is RM 3200. anyone notice the different? best regards Takashi |

Deep Freeze help you to protect your client pc ... but it cant help for your maintenance .... you still need to update a game by pc to pc ..... it takes a lot of times. ... just the technician and cybercafe owner know how hard it is!!!

i'm abit blur is setting the cafe suite money/ charging rate.. can someone use cafe suite helping me.. problem i'm facing now is if there anyone paid then play, they can't add more rm1.. cause the charging will be diffferent wen get charge in the cafe suite program for example.. paid rm1 but get charge in program show 0.50 only.. some one pls help..

3000GB is it really 3TB or typo mistake which means only 300GB?
 Now moving from 500GB to 1TB HDD. Wee..... That means more games to install, setup, configure and troubleshoot. I mean Game Server 1TB hdd not client. For client computers, I only need 160GB Hdd atleast per pc, I no longer need 300GB hdd(the times when i do manual games updates  tedious job indeed). Im using one of the game server system mention in this thread but sorry Im not going to tell which one. (but definitely not the diskless type). Most games are setup by me and my collegues/friends. When talk about game server software and system(not the diskless type, that is something Im not familiar with ), it all depend on who setup for you.The game server software if you get it direct from the manufacturer, contain nothing except a blank game menu interface. It all depend on how you add games yourself into it or the person or people who help you setup the game server software and even hardware, add games for you. Sometimes they themselves already have a large games install into their master game menu server copy hard drive. Sorry no posting of the games that I have. Except its consider not much except it take up 400GB+ of space. It could have been more but because server hard disk dont have so much space. Some were deleted. Thats why now going into 1TB hard drive.  Some members here mention about cdkey changers problem, well for one, some game server or even cafe billing/game server combo have cdkey builtin into their system(but please, its not always perfect for certain games which dont rely on registry). In that case, 1) you made your own cdkey changer. 2) pay someone to made one for you. 3) strangle your friend/collegue to made for you.  4) pay someone online to made one for you. Some note about game servers using hard drives. Its best that the mapping hard drive is separate from the game server os hard drive itself(that means two hard disk, one for server os etc, one for the mapping drive for games). Mention about combining two network cards into one in windows to increase the bandwith. Well, I for one never see the second network card blink as madly as first network card in windows even when the server is stress to the limit. So the second network was taken out. So we need one powerful gigabit network card only. As for billing software, we cant said one billing software is better than another one. No billing software is perfect, it all comes down to which billing software satisfied your needs or cafe needs. Talk about maintaining cafe, now the trend is try to prevent getting infected by virus/trojans. Not arguing about who can crack your billing cafe/game server. Forget that, once your cafe computers infected by virus/trojans, think how much downtime you need to troubleshoot or fix your computers, how much earning you would lose when your whole cafe was shutdown just to troubleshoot/fix virus/trojan problems. Now economic so bad, cybercafe earning is more important than anything else. No bonus, might even get paid cut Thats all for now. BTW, deep freeze isnt that all mighty as before. Some virus/trojans specifically attack deep freeze protected system. so now deep freeze is a preventive system(not 100%), just like other preventive system in the market. |

SmartLaunch should give it a try. Support all OS such as winxp , winvista , or win7. Hard to damaged it if ppl use in the Caber Cafe cauz it will control and corrupt the explorer.exe process if you trying to damage the applications. But, it is not freeware lol.

I need some help, the ecafepro forum now is in chinese, the english version, dump/deleted I think. Now, I cant the microsoft hotfix/patch for ecafepro client link, this patch is suppose to enable the use of windows restart/shutdown button, after installing ecafepro client. It was posted previously in ecafe pro forum but now deleted. Any help would be appreciated. |

I am using ecafepro too. What version are you using, maybe i can help you?
Also do you face the problem where ecafepro program keeps changing your IE home page.... to www.pasar.com.my, www.wow.com.my and many more malaysians sites... It acts like some malware, even changing the home page manually, registry edit, deleting registry will result in the same thing as long as we set ecafepro client to start upon pc start up. |

Everyone tell me to just phone them, but heck then why create a forum for in first place?  Since they dont bother about the forum, well, let everyone have the same problem as me then. Even the false virus alarm, they never fix it, the L-A-Z-Y comes to my mind. |

for movie base... why not self download all the movie to local hard disk and make a portal website and play it through local disk? it should help alot and save alot of money. and wont make the gamer in ur cc frustrated when someone is pps or youtube.

Anyone can recommend software to create game server for cyber cafe?
I read that there is one called CCDisk (USD199). Another free version is from Friendster iCafe iSAN but you have to use it with the billing software (which I believe crashed if run with Windows 7). Any other type of software that can do game server, and free or buy? |

In terms of security for client side pcs between ecafepro and mol. MOL stand better chances against hacking. Ecafepro, even the new client 4.17 can be hacked. But the new version of MOL client havent seen anyone hack into it yet. MOL have improve alot over time. The only drawback I think is need to keep an active internet connection for the cashier and also its flash advertising feature and its only activation. But alot of us here all use ecafepro for cybercafes even cafe32 and cafe123. Its popular due to alot of people use it since dont know when it start on until now. Its the trend. MOL get bad response due to their earlier versions causing alot of problems, but since then, its improve alot. There is no such thing, which one is better, it all comes down to our requirement. Each cybercafe have certain requirement, that is what made them decide which product to choose, even smartlaunch, onecafe and antemedia cafe software, people also use them. Just decide which one your comfortable with, and meet your cybercafe requirement. |

remember last time.....year 2004~2005 , nearby my sch got a cc using EcafePro
and i know the staff over there , and i almost play free over there everyday without left any record on their server xD tat time , i just go to the safe mode and uninstall EcafePro so after pc restart....the pc just like normal window and i can enjoy my free play xD after that , the staff will do recovery/install back the EcafePro~ and also , i share this tactic to many ppl....most of the player over thr oso using the same method with me , 1~2 years later ...the cc changed owner ald This post has been edited by 3536837: Feb 12 2012, 01:07 AM |

As for cafe32, not really familiar with it but know that it can be hacked too easily too. i only seen old version can be hacked into but not sure whether new version can be hacked into or not, if theres any new version at all. Safemode, can be blocked by hacking a special window file, ecafepro website have a tool that can be download, and you can use it to disable safemore totally for windows xp. Disabling windows xp safemode using registry is totally useless. You need that tool from ecafepro website to totally disable window xp safemode. As for the tool mention in the ecafepro forum for protecting the ecafepro process is totally useless since the same tool cant even protect its own process. I really wonder what happen to the person who actually follow the ecafepro advice about using that tool, since that company that create that tool does not exist anymore. Security for any cybercafe software can be broken, its just a matter of time, but all cybercafes have their own software to protect their cybercafe software. The reason why no one share the info, is that once share, the security implemented can be hack or bypass easily and the info will be share over the internet. Cashier pc itself can be protected from hacking just by installing security software and blocking any access from outside, eg, usb flash drive, floppy, cd-rom, network, internet etc. you can even disable usb port from bios and put a password on bios too. Record deleted in cashier for ecafepro can be trace(thats what I heard). I'm not familiar with ecafepro software or how the record works but I do heard it can be trace, especially discrepancy. Nowadays, almost all cybercafes have restore software installed into each client pc, so that when a pc is reboot, everything goback to same setting as before. Eg most common, deep freeeze, shadow defender, ProtectOn etc or even juzt reboot card. Ecafepro client itself can block some software from executing but somehow, when new 4.16x or 4.17 release, it no longer works. |

To be honest, it doesn't work so well in my school, couldn't find any decent working software and I'm still a student that time and couldn't afford any software, hell I doubt my school will allow me to claim back the money. Back then I was hosting a DOTA Competition in the school and I end up getting network error during competition, sadly the competition ended without any winning team, this embarrassing event still clouds my mind. For example, you have many of those MOL points games install in a gaming server. Is there such a software that can automatically update the games so that cybercafe operator does not have to update the games one by one? Thanks all. |
